No, originally I was going to run that HC bumper Jim built but with a new born at the time and after pricing out wire, I had to back out. My bumper on the truck currently is the road armor stealth, it's pretty burly and the winch mounts right behind the plate. Since I've got a welder now, I've been thinking about trimming and modding it to be a hybrid HC, maybe add a swing out.

Oh whoa. Is there room still for the spare there as well? Assuming you didn't have an air tank of course

Still room for a spare, I had one in there before I got air. I went to 33s and no matching spare and so far haven't needed a spare yet. A slow leak here or there but that's what the oba is for.

Yeah body lift for the FJ case. I haven't adjusted it at all, and they didn't do a very good job reinstalling it after the frame swap either. It hasn't bothered me too much, but it's definitely noticeable. I've also banged it into a lot of shit so it might not be parallel to the universe anymore.

 

Decided to make my winch free spool lever more accessible. I'll clean up the welds and give it some paint in the day light tomorrow.

 

You don’t need a body lift for an FJ xfer case conversion

 

Eh I did. The shifter was binding up on the cab floor where it comes out of the top of the case. I kept the j shift pattern instead of doing twin sticks. I could have massaged the floor to allow full range of movement for the shifter, but

 

Are your cab mounts just totally worn out? That looks like minimal clearance and even so I’d rather massage the sheet metal there some than body lift but maybe that’s just me

 

There wasn't even a 1/2" clearance there. Yeah they're pretty wore-tf-out. I'm fine with an inch BL, if it needed more than that I'd have massaged it with a BFH like I did the pinch weld in the front fenderwell.

Buddy of mine got assaulted (sucker punched) downtown near the olympic sculpture park this past saturday. The dude yelled racial slurs and "THIS IS AMERICA" before running off. SPD actually managed to find and arrest the guy, but isn't going to treat it as a hate crime because "they were generic statements". Stay frosty people.
