    Hey there!

I'm very new so excuse any ignorance I might portray!

I've got a 2020 TRD off road that is essentially stock besides a few lighting upgrades.

The next modifications I want to do to the truck is wheels/tires and possibly? suspension/lift.

I'm looking to get SCS Ray 10s, and ideally would like to have 33" tires - I've been eyeing BFG KO2s. (Not sure if I would do 285/75/r16 or 295/75/r16 - tips appreciated!).

So as it currently stands, there is no lift on my truck. I've been looking around and it looks like in order to fit 33s, I'm going to have to do a body mount chop. From the few companies I've been in contact with, some of them are saying that not only will I need to do the body mount chop, I'm most likely going to need a lift as well. No problem, I was going to do a lift anyway.

For a lift, I was looking at doing the King 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers but if I'm being honest I have no knowledge really around suspension and so I don't even know if these are a good choice. I do however know that they're expensive! Also, it looks like these are sold as a pair, does that mean I would need to purchase two pairs? Or is the rear suspension different? I've heard of adding a leaf to the rear but I'm not sure if that is typical. I'd be aiming for a 2 or 3 inch lift. I've also heard that the type of upper control arms you have might impact this. Could someone explain how?

My question is - Is there a way to get by with these 33s without having to do both a lift and a body mount chop? The truck is going to be used for daily driving, as well as camping/overlanding. I don't expect to be going full jeep offroading, but I'd like the capability to be able to make it over most intermediate trails. I don't have a problem with doing both of these if it's necessary, but unfortunately tires/wheels/suspension seem like they all need to be done at the same time, so it's going to be a pretty penny. Add in the costs for labor (I'm all for doing my own mods but something as crucial as suspension seems smart to leave to the experts, and I don't even have a garage) and it's getting up there, so if I can save money by only doing one, I'd love that.

    Thank you!

Do a little searching here. Many claim 285s in stock wheels won’t rub, but any aftermarket wheel will require trimming

With 33's you will most likely need the CMC. You can do the lift and see, but you'll most likely experience rubbing on the cab mounts. Front and rear shocks are different. The front coilovers will create the lift up front; the shocks in the rear will not. You'll need to add a leaf or two or get an aftermarket leaf pack. And with a lift tall enough to fit 33's, you'll also need new upper control arms or you'll never get it to align right. You should also plan on replacing the front driver side diff needle bearing with the ECGS bushing while you're doing the front lift.

    Thanks for the info.

It sounds like doing the wheels/tires/suspension is the best approach and then doing the CMC afterwards if necessary
