Great truck few minor noises .....

Only real complaint is the interior plastic is easier to scuff than any vehicle I have ever seen

Also, consider your sources when getting these complaints. Throw 35s on your stock drive train and yeah, you're gonna get diff problems. If you're using your tacoma to pull a landscaping trailer, then your transmission probably wont like it. On that note, toyotas 6 speed auto is a bit dated compared to Ford and GM 10 and 8 speeds.
Performance cars always get lower reliability ratings compared to other models by the same make (think mustang's and STI's), but that's because people buy these cars to beat them up. The same thing goes for TRD trimmed Tacomas. I know several middle aged family guys who use their TRDs for family cars and typical light truck things with 100k miles and zero problems. I also know that if I routinely off road my '18, I'll eventually have to fix what I'm tearing up.

I've had some of the most issues with my truck as anyone here, about 8 warranty repairs before 30k miles. However it seems as if all of the issues are worked out as the truck is now at almost 40k miles without another issue and I do plan on keeping it.

The only thing I've seen that seems to be very common is the TRD OffRoad Crawl Control not working properly on the 2020 models. Those of us who have them are hoping for a fix from Toyota soon.

That sound you hear that sounds like your drivetrain is being ripped apart by Thanos? That's normal man. That's crawl control. Everyone* uses it once, realizes it's more of a pain to use than to simply drive the vehicle yourself, then forgets about it entirely.

    * Scientifically based on absolutely no evidence.
