Placed deposit on new truck, can I get it back?

Placed a $500 deposit for a special-order Tacoma with the dealership last October. I've since moved out of the state and won't be buying the truck (think it's now scheduled to arrive to the dealer in early August), told the dealer it'll arrive too late about a month back.

Will the dealer refund my deposit or is it gone?

 

They will. No big deal.

For the same amount of effort it required to post on here, you could have just asked the dealer

You can buy what they build nothing special about that.

 

It depends on the dealer. If you ordered something crazy that they can't sell, they may keep your money. Likely they would be an upstanding dealer and give it back, but my goodness 10 months?
