Are there axle seals in the nitro gear master kit?

Should be but don't think they are installing the master kit because they are re-using the same bearings and seals unless you bring those in.

Speedfreak did my initial lift install and initial SSO bumper install...good guy!

Question about the airline...is it just running it from the solenoid you the diff?

Or if they’re in the master kit, we could just tell them to use the new seals in the master kit, as I’m pretty sure that is what they ordered for our trucks

The master kit also comes with new diff bearings. Curious if anyone has gotten there old bearings after install? They definitely used my old bearings because I can see the wear marks from my old bearings before they installed the new gears in my diff.

That was my point, doesn't make sense if they are in the kit and not using them (unless we bring our own in).

So we would need these axle seals for all 4 corners, or just the front? Does the rear have different seals?

I haven’t even installed the solenoids to the locker manifold yet. They showed me the air connections on the diff but it looks like more plumbing needs to be done. Honestly I don’t want to chase down leaks and just want someone who has experience running it to finish the job.

That's what we paid for I believe. In my case I brought in front and rear oem pinion seals and rolled the dice on the axle seals, my mistake because mine both leaked. Luckily my gears are good and forward and aft pinion seals have no leaks. The master kit I believe comes with all those seals I just mentioned.

I'm not taking any chances so I purchased new axle seals ($20 per side) when I ordered the ECGS bushing that replaces the axle needle bearing. Miguel said there will be no problem doing this additional work and just to write the a Yelp review on them.

If you are interested in bringing your own quality OEM seals maybe this will help you.

The seals can different for different years even within the same gen. Example my 2016 has two diff part numbers sets for front depending on my VIN.

Have your Toyota dealership look up parts by your vin.

    2016 Tacoma
    Toyota OEM parts

Rear set for my Truck. 90310-5803. X 2

Front for my Truck Right & Left.
    90311-47026
    90311-47027

    Good Luck!

They should be installing the nitro master kit. One of the mechanics told me that’s part of their “promotion” or “deal”. They order the gears and they will install it with the master kits they carry at the shop.

But if you decide to just purchase the gears and not have them install it, the master kits don’t come with it. Just the ring and pinion which is around $700

Yes, please advise. If the "Master Kit" is what we're getting, I'd be glad to return the seals I purchased outside of the GB.

Long story short I backed out. But I still wanted to purchase the gears. He quoted me $700 ($400 deposit plus $300)but you ONLY get the ring and pinion front and back. I was expecting to get the full nitro kit. But I still paid the $700.

I can tell you from my personal experience that it does not come with the master kit since I walked away without one. But if you get your gears install with them ( which that’s part of the group buy deal) they will provide the master kit with the install. That’s what I was told by one of their mechanics.

I’m just an idiot reading and had a few questions.

Master kit: are these seals that are better than OEM? Do they comes from Nitro or are they an off brand seals ? If OEM is better than these “master kits”, I think we can all agree to go buy the OEM one ourselves.

If master kit is part of the group buy, were they not installed on the leaking trucks? If the truck had master kit and it still leaked then I don’t think we solved the problem here.

Can we get an accurate count of people that has had leak and pin point the problem?

On it tomorrow for answers on the master kit question.

What we discussed is the Master Kits from whatever gear brand you purchase from. I know Nitro seals aren’t as high quality as OEM for sure, they specific details I don’t remember too well. But we should not be having seals reused, or this CV leaking problem occuring. I’ve never heard of that unless the truck is literally brand new. I also didn’t know a CV axle seal comes with the Master Kit...I personally have never replaced one.

What I have in the OP is quoted from Miguel. So if for some reason master kits aren’t being installed and its just gears, I got a huge problem with Premier starting...(Realized I didn’t state it in the OP, but yes, master kits are apart of the deal).

Tomorrow I will be in a town and can sit down and figure all this out and have some clear answers.

I know the majority of us have no issues. I’m thinking its like...10% or less having CV leaking issues. The overtorquing is 100% of us.

Still no people with gear related issues correct?

I doubt on break in they are using Lucas Oil. I can ask tomorrow - I remember it was some generic brand 85w-140 I believe. Thats just what’s recommended to run after the 500 mile change.

Master Kit stuff I’ll find out tomorrow.

Any seal thats non-oem is inferior. They aren’t using OEM seals on their master kits. Nitro doesn’t use OEM seals either.

The seals are aftermarket and bought in large quantities and sold with master kits. OEM is better of course.

I’ll figure out the second part of your question tomorrow.

Expect an update from me tomorrow as long as Miguel gets back to all my questions. Definitely want answers to our question to figure out whats going wrong....

Idk it seems fool proof to me to do a proper install job if you’ve done it 500+ times. Annoyed.

I’m curious as to everyone who has had the issue. If you could comment “I had an issue” and explain what was wrong, we could get a headcount and look at install dates and at what point we stop having issues.

OP, I personally haven't heard or read any issues with gears themselves. Just leaks and overtorquing. However, I'm a firm believer that time is money. Especially for those who need to make that drive back out to Riverside, it's such an unfortunate waste of time. Really hoping they get the leak issue addressed for the sake of all the people in the GB. OP, thanks for staying on top of it and being the liason between us and PW.
