So DownSouth Motorsports was nice enough to help me out with a build that I was doing so here is a review on their new UCA's.

First off i have to say the quality is top notch, the welds and the fit and finish in perfect on these. Powder coating is perfect as well. The look of these UCA's is very cool in my opinion and is why i went with them. they are boxed and are made out of 4130 boxed chromoly with a a uni-ball and are tig welded. They also are greasable, and have built in caster for lifted trucks.

I wont go much into instalation because they all install exactly the same. So if you have done them before it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours if you dont run into any hikups.

Personally i have been very happy with the DSM UCA's. I have installed other brands on trucks and some fit and finish is hit or miss. As well as other brands have hit the coilovers on other trucks I've done. My truck is aligned perfect now and there is no rubbing with 285/70/17 with a -12mm offset rim. I didn't have to cut the cab mounts either. Did minor trimming on the flares but had to do that with stock UCA's as well (more because I have larger flares on the truck).

I do not work for Down South Motorsports, or have any affiliation with them. Just a happy customer who has a lot of experience with aftermarket accessories, and a few people have been asking me to post up pics and what i think compared to others out there. I am also not bad mouthing any other companies out there but bang for the buck I do think these are some of the best values out there right now. If you have any questions for me feel free to ask. Sorry for the bad pics and the dirty truck, its been a little rainy here in the PAC Northwest if you can believe that!

I got a set of DSM UCAs in yesterday (that i won) and they are amazing. They look soo bad ass and you can tell a lot of time went into them to make them perfect. At first when i saw them in the design thread i didn't like the boxed look but it looks soo much beefier then the tubed look that i actually prefer it 100 times more after seeing them in person. I haven't installed mine yet, but i cannot wait to. Should be this week or next and i'll let you know how it goes.

do a favor bro, and run those things over a jagged, ditched, whooped, banged up road at a fast pace and tell me how they survive. Do we have any numbers on extra wheel travel? I'm torn between built right UCA's and these.

sounds like you need to be in the market for a LT kit, not uca's

the purpose for uca's is to correct alignment, not blasting through whoops. you may gain a couple inches of travel, but nothing major...

I do need to be in that market, but my bank account says otherwise.

My balljoints failed me, and I need something a lot stronger so I'm wondering how these would survive a mild bang because my balljoints couldn't handle what a threw at them... which honestly wasn't that much.

ya dor sure, they do make these with built in caster so it lets them align up perfectly with lifted trucks.

Good memory. Yes I did have a Frontier 4cyl that my girlfriend totaled off road. She drove it into a series of rocks, and then brought the truck to an immediate stop on top of a giant rock. Twisted frame, air bags, the works...
