Had some time yesterday so I asked my buddy if we could use his shop. I noticed my tire carrier was kinda weak, so he fab’d up some new mounts and gave it extra support. I was also able to finally mount my hi-lift jack! It fits so perfect on the side of the bed rack!

Went out and got some pics of the truck today. The DoD travel ban sucks!

Be honest, how do you like the rooftop tent over a normal tent? I've got friends who love and friends who think it was a waste of money since you're paying 2k just to sleep in a tent on top of your car instead of the ground. haha

To be honest, eh. Haha it’s more of a convenience. Pros: set up time - 1 minute. Saves you bed space, gets you off the ground away from wildlife, Looks cool, you can literally set it up at a gas station if you needed to stay over night.

Cons: affect gas mileage, you have to pack up camp to hit trails (not a big deal for me cause I can leave everything and just close the tent in about 1 minute), limited to space without spending $$$$.

it’s definitely a personal preference. I got mine for a damn good deal, $900 when it is originally $1600.

yeah the "eh" part is what most seem to say haha. I've been sleeping in my topper (6 foot bed though) for years but am gonna go slide in camper now. Gonna be interesting to see how rough of roads I can get away with in that thing haha

I would sleep in a topper but I’ve got a 5’ bed and a wife and dog so that wasn’t really the best option. I guess it all comes down to preference.

Yeah I'm 6 foot tall so I always have to kind of cram my feet onto the wife's side of the bed, one reason we're getting a camper haha. If we don't like the camper I'll probably just try to find an old flippac or wildernest topper

Your truck makes me wish I went with a tube front bumper instead of plate! Lol

Sometimes I wish I had went with a plate bumper! Lights in the bumper would be so cool.

Out with the old, in with the new! Finally swapped out my TRD stickers for something more appealing.

Took some time this weekend to remodel my center dash. Used 24 gauge steel and some soft leather from Amazon and went to work.
I used the old dash to get the frame of the new one then I cut out all the slots I needed to mount everything. Mounted it using bolt and it fit right there! Bought a 10” screen from Amazon and finally have a spot for my switches now 0ECAD892-EA2E-44C4-99E6-44663E2FED6B.jpg C3C9AA0C-8DF2-44B4-8DB7-F2F19B15A2C5.jpg

This and @Box Rocket build are my favorite. As I go I check these builds first. I’m still on suspension and steering but before long there will be a black version to go next to the gold and red.

Thanks for the compliment! I’m glad others can enjoy the truck just as much as me!

Thanks. This truck has quite a few similar mods to what I did with my old Tacoma. Worked well so that's not a bad thing.

What’s up box! Everything has worked pretty well haha. I’m actually making a huge change to the truck right now to something that suits my needs a little better. But you’ve had some great ideas for your old taco.

Oh boy oh boy have I got something to share!

After a few months of figuring shit out, it’s finally done.

The frame of my new camper I built using 14 gauge 1.5” square tubing. Each panel is made of 3mm thick aluminum composite and welded to the frame using basic stainless steel hinges from Home Depot. 17” struts rated at 28lbs is what holds each panel up when opened. 1” angle aluminum was used as the stiffener of each panel so they are less likely to flex and bend. The latches are from Amazon and they work but putting pressure on the backside of the panel to force it closed.

All in all, I’m so happy about how this thing came out.

Well, it's been a little while but I've been working on something with a buddy. Some custom rock sliders! Tell me there aren't the cleanest you've ever seen! Also removed the roof rack and plan on getting a new one soonish.
