Bruh, the more serious question is, “Why wouldn’t you want to do this?!?!”

Well your question was weird. OVTune released VFtuner where people can purchase and edit stock or already edited maps. You can tune the engine to pop, if you want that get a better sounding exhaust. The MBRP is a basic sounding exhaust that doesn’t sound that good on the 3rd gen. The Flowmaster super 44 gurgles like crazy and sounds very low pitched on my truck when it’s warmed up

I’m not sure why someone would spend so much money on a Tacoma and tune.

Just get a Lamborghini. Buy once, cry once.

Buy the Lambo for the motor swap!

V10 swap >> LS swap = Car / Minivan motor. Do I have that right?

Yeah my Harley pops every now and then with the cat delete and Bassani 2-1 exhaust. Would not want my truck to do the same thing though!

If you want to hear a " popping" sound from your exhaust why not just wire in a 2 step rev limiter ????

My 2.7 pops sometimes, right when you fire it up. Does that count?

I see people do this to M5’s and Audi’s, there’s a company in Texas that seems like this is what they specialize in. I think it’s straight dumb, if you want it that’s cool I guess.

Might include a few crys. One when you purchase, one when you're crying with how good it sounds and feels, and another one when they repo it for missed payments and now you're in the red 200k

Won't hurt your vehicle if you tune it right. Just need to run more rich during decel (not much). Play with DFCO settings to add fueling. I would recommend having a professional tune the truck if that is what you are looking for.

Many factory tunes have this kind of popping built in (BMW Power Performance Pack tune for example).

I had that and afe exhaust. None of which gurgled as much as the dual mbrp. Granted, exhausts sound different depending on the transmission.

There is a guy on the 86 platform who has run a tune like this for over 100k miles and its still going strong. I've always wondered the long term impacts but I guess if you do it right it's fine.

Does OV Tune make anything for performance cars? I dont know much about them. I've only ever seen them make stuff for toyota and mazda products. What did they expect when tuning a Corolla? The majority of the owners are young, and it's probably their first car.

Just put a carburetor on it. Then when you're rolling down the road, switch off the ignition, pump the gas pedal a few times and switch the ignition back on. You'll get a pop then.

Or you can just save the extra stress of the tune and install this guy under the hood:

    upload_2020-6-30_14-57-10.jpg

Bonus: you can map pretty much any sound you like to it. Ever find yourself in the mood for the gurgle of a 68 'cuda on Monday, but by Friday you are feeling like an Alpha Romeo? No problem! Let the sound generator turn that truck into a head-turner!
