How far are you location wise?

 

So, I basically watched the entire game and there is no way I could ever like this story line. It is a weak revenge story. That is a shitty followup to one of the best games ever created. The characters in the first game were perfect. Watching Joel and Ellie grow together throughout the game and how Joel eventually saw Sara in her and basically became his surrogate daughter. I love how the game gave you no option to chose what you told Ellie about what happened at the Fireflies and that there was no cure. It left you wondering what you would do in that situation.

I knew that it would eventually be addressed in the new game. But it was fucking weak. Anyway... no spoilers. I don't care how good the actual gameplay is. I care about the story and the story sucks. It took them 7 years to create what I consider to be nothing but a fucking revenge story. That's fucking weak. Especially since the first LoU was so character deep. I give a fuck about Abby. And you have to play her after what she has done. I don't give a shit about her past and what happened.

 

Is what it is. It's my opinion of the game.

but what did you want/expect? 30 hours of gameplay of Ellie and Joel wondering the country just fighting some more infected? no extra character development? we knew basically everything about Ellie and Joel.

I didn't want it to be "The Walking Dead" where it's the same thing over and over.

 

No... I didn't expect it to be Ellie and Joel wondering around the country. But they way they made the original trailer out to be was, she was going to kill every last one of them (assuming the Fireflies). But then it really would have made a compelling story after Joel was forced to tell Ellie the truth about what happened. But, what it ended up being was a fucking revenge story and you had to play half the game as fucking Abby (who everyone hates even though her motivations are her own). Then the ending is fucking horrible. So it is nothing but a revenge story that took them 7 years to create. Then you get the entire "woke" bullshit crammed down your throat. I support everything and everybody. Live your life they way you like. But to cram your personal agenda down your throat and then say if don't agree with that, you are homophobic and don't buy our game. Fuck you Naughty Dog. The last thing I am is homophobic and for you to assume that because I don't like the direction you took the game that I am???? Fuck you and your game. That shit is too much to me and another reason for me to hate Naughty Dog.

 

so you wanted her to kill every last Firefly, which would 100% be a revenge story, but you're not happy about the revenge story they wrote? THEIR STORY IS LITERALLY HER KILLING EX-FIREFLIES.

you may hate playing as Abby, and I get it, I have a distaste in my mouth playing as her, BUT ISN'T THAT EXACTLY WHAT NAUGHTY DOG AND LAST OF US IS GOOD AT?! Making you hate/love something but STILL HAVING TO DO IT. Man, look at it from another direction.

I haven't finished the game, so I can't comment towards the ending.

It does, in fact, seem like you are somewhat homophobic because the love story-line clearly bothers you. You knew what the relationship was before trailers, before game leaks, before anything...if you actually paid attention and played the last of us and the expansion.

 

Slow your roll there my friend. I did play the Last of Us expansion. But to label me as homophobic I won't accept that. There are a lot of things you can say about me but that isn't one of them. When did I ever make mention of the love story line. I already knew it was in the game and was still going to buy it before all the leaks.

Did I expect them to strictly go after the Fireflies throughout the entire game going by the trailer? No. I expected twists and turns throughout the game that I didn't expect. But to treat the characters the way they did in this game? I just didn't like the direction they took. If you like it great. I'm glad you do. But you will not label me as being homophobic. I take that as extremely offensive since you don't even know me. I'm about as liberal as they come.

Go back and read my lines before. Yes I said that as a point that Naughty Dog made a big point that if you don't like our game because of what we put in it and the direction we took with the stories of the characters, you are homophobic. So they crammed all the woke shit in there to prove a point. I don't care but it was almost like they were saying "fuck you". If you don't like it, you can fuck off. Well, that's not the reason I didn't buy the game. The reason I didn't buy the game was because of the shitty story line and how they treat the characters that we had come to know and care about.

I very much dislike the insinuation. Not only by @stronghammer but also by Neil Druckmann who stated that if you don't like or want to buy our game then you are homophobic. That type of "woke" mentality gets under my skin. So if I don't like or buy your game I'm homophobic? Druckmann even posted a picture of the liner notes off of Incesticide and then In Utero by Nirvana that read “If any of you in any way hate homosexuals, people of different color, or women, please do this one favor for us—leave us the fuck alone! Don’t come to our shows and don’t buy our records.” Well, that never kept me from buying Nirvana's albums. The difference between Nirvana and Druckmann is Druckmann was saying that if you don't like or buy the game then you are homophobic. "That" is a fucking "woke" attitude. So fuck him. At least Kirk Cobain got it right.

and I mean that in a totally detached way. I've been mad as all hell as several sequels in the last decade, usually studio induced. I know people in the industry. It's all about the money. Don't get upset and vent everywhere. You're literally advertising for them. A lot of what's said is just to trigger a few guys like yourself to chat about the game. It actually increases sales, sadly.

Lol... this is the only place that I've said anything about the game since I started this thread back in 2014. So I'm pretty sure I'm not affecting sales lol. Those that were going to buy the game were going to buy it no matter what I thought. Had I not seen the leaks I was going to buy it. But after everything that happened "I" personally said fuck it. As far as me complaining about it... 1: I can do that. 2: it isn't going to change anyones mind whether they buy the game. I'm just stating my displeasure with were they took the game. 3: If someone doesn't like what I have to say about it, they can put me on ignore. They have that ability and right.

He's saying the harder you fight the argument the more you defeat your own argument. The fact you make such a fuss about the homophobic comment does start to sound like "hey, I have a problem with that," but he still didn't call you homophobic.

You went on for how many pages is my point. Do you really think it's changed anything? If anything some random coming across this is more likely to look into or maybe even buy the game just to see what you're so upset about. All you did was turn a discussion into an argument. Very helpful. I'm not here to poop on your right to vent, but I will let you know it's effectively advertising at this point. Pages upon pages of advertising.

I don't throw many people on ignore. Actually, the only guy I have on ignore is the same guy several times over. He has several profiles on here and decided that trolling me would be his fun thing to do to waste his time. Mods didn't want to handle it or just don't care, I'd guess number 2 , so I threw him on ignore.

On a side note. I'm still waiting for one of the big two to drop us some actual IRL gameplay footage. Enough of this pre-rendered advertisement crap.
