I saw your post in the Hab/AT thread, you played it like my wife’s new $140 camping table, with $2900 mounting kit from CBI.

You wouldn't think it, but the Midas in Shakopee is great. He's already done two of ours now.

He's a big Jeep guy, so he knows the game. He'll talk your ear off about Moab. Great guy.

    Curious about this as well...

Also, has anyone done a successful regear and can recommend a good shop? Thinking 5.29s.

I guess I sounded dickish, sorry.

How does the rerouted crossover pipe do being so close to the t-case and I-joint? I’m thinking about getting a reroute, but cooking my spiny-bits concerns me.

That’s been discussed on here and I didn’t read about anyone having any obvious problems.

I really don't remember his name - this was over a year ago. Just call them. They'll know what to do. I think mine was somewhere between $250-300.

I've noticed no adverse affects on the u-joint.

Mostly stock with a few minor mods.
I spied a nice speedway blue 3rd Gen TRD Pro with all the fixings headed north this evening. iKamper RTT on top. Anyone we know?

Did you install them yourself, or did you have a shop do it for you? Also, did you get Nitros or something else?

I want 5.29s because I do a fair amount of towing, and on 33s it is pretty sluggish.

I think I'm going to go with Ripcords plan and make myself a GFC look a like. But sign shops are not getting back to me. Going to be selling my topper once it gets close to done.

Had east coast gear supply build them with nitro gears and I installed them.

I run 4.10s with 35s and I feel like I still have plenty of torque.

If you highway tow then I think 5.29s are gonna suck

    You have a 2nd gen, @roboman has a 3rd gen

You want 5.29s in the 3rd gen if you are going larger than stock tires

Heh. I think that's just Tacoma problems. Every time I drive/tow through Colorado I immediately wish I had a Tundra.

How big of a trailer you towing?

Chris and I put 4.10's in mine as well. Mainly because it was the cheapest option, but also because I'd still much rather be under-geared than over-geared. I realize 3rd gens are geared differently though. Not sure where 5.29's fall in that range of options for you.

ECGS (prebuilt) is definitely the way to go.
