    The Gibson is the aluminized version and Borla is Stainless. You can get the Gibson in stainless for around $400. Check out Gibson's website, they have the same pricing but you'll know it will actually fit. When I was looking for my F250, I found a lot of websites just blanket said 'fits 2017-current' but Gibson actually changed the design specifically for the 2019+. I checked their website for your Tacoma, there are a few options, one aluminized for basically the same price as Summit and one stainless for $400.

    Awesome, thank you! Very informative for me. I've never bought an exhaust so don't really know what to look out for. Any tips are 100% appreciated! :thumbsup::hattip::hattip:

    Keep in mind, they're pretty low grade stainless, usually 410. Some of the better ones are 304. I went Gibson for the Ferd because of noise, I wanted to keep the truck relatively quiet. I was finding some cat back systems that were LOUD! I'm not sure if that's the case for the Toyotas also. My Gibson is still pretty quiet, similar overall noise level as stock, maybe a little louder but definitely a lower tone.

    I am leaning towards the borla, seems to be a little better with the nicer steel. Just emailed them to confirm fitment on the double cab because the site mentions extended cabs.

    I get a louder v-8 if people want that, but I feel like v-8 guys would be laughing at me trying to get my little 3.4L sounding like them. The borla is their touring and supposed to be fairly quiet. That was why I am looking at Gibson and them though, I know they can make nice sounding exhaust that doesn't drone or stick out too much.

    Just an FYI, here's the Gibson version in stainless:
    https://gibsonperformance.com/i-22730576-01-04-toyota-tacoma-2-7l-3-4l-single-exhaust-stainless-618800.html#!year=2003||make=TOYOTA||model=TACOMA, PRE RUNNER

    Borla is supposed to be 'no drone'. I didn't even get to look at them for my truck because they only made the ATAK version, which is well documented to be very aggressive sounding.

    I searched for the stainless on their site and couldn't find it! Thanks for that link!

    You were searching Summit's site or Gibson's? I was having issues on vendor sites, part numbers weren't matching up, some would say things would fit my truck, others wouldn't list it. I ended up buying directly from the source. If you go Gibson, I'd recommend doing the same. Their pricing was in line with any other vendor I could find. I don't think you can go wrong with Borla or Gibson. If you go Gibson, I'd opt for the stainless with all the salt they dump on the roads up here.

    You're better off with the true stainless even if it is 400 series. Aluminized will rot eventually and usually doesn't take too long for the coating to break down

    I was looking on the gibson site, it just kept showing me the one option, If I don't go Borla I'll be calling gibson directly like you recommend!

    Okay, I'll put up the dough to make it last, I'd rather buy once cry once. Weird that the aluminum rots? I guess we do see a lot of salt here.

    I've been impressed with every Borla car I've been around, as far as sound as least. Its very clean and nice.

    Thanks guys!!! I appreciate all the insight :hattip::bowdown:

    The aluminized is just a coating on regular steel. So once the aluminum coating is worn off the steel is bare and completely exposed to the elements plus heat cycling. So the steel eventually rots out
