My tuning computer see a lot of the world and has personal info on it. Not worried here.

For me, I trust Win Defender and have done 3rd party scans, which turn up nothing. In the past, I tried out other a/v programs where 3rd party scans would find stuff. I know there are folks who are not fans of Win Defender, but it at least seems to work for me?

You need to tell OVT what Tune Pack you want and you will get it back in an email.

My girlfriend drove my truck today (I know, I’m brave) and even noticed the difference with OV Tune. She was driving up a fairly steep hill and said: “normally I’d need to have the pedal down a lot further to get up this, it drives a lot better”. After getting on the highway she said: “The acceleration is much smoother and it’s not shifting all the time”. Girlfriend tested and approved.

It’s definitely worth the wait. I’m just using the most basic tune too, no premium fuel option or thx option (thx is increased throttle response). It accelerates much smoother, no dead spots or surges like it had before. It holds gears longer and more appropriately during acceleration so you get up to speed without the transmission constantly wanting to upshift. However, when you reach a flat section of road for cruising at a constant speed, it up shifts appropriately to achieve good fuel economy. It’s hard to articulate but the best way I can describe it is: it combines the best shifting characteristics between having the ECT button on, and not having the ECT button on, while smoothing out power delivery through the rpm band. Acceleration is smoother and more effortless without having to change the angle of the accelerator pedal. It doesn’t make your truck a sports car and it doesn’t make it a Cadillac, it just makes it exactly how it should have been from the factory.

Wouldn't have half of those problems if you had a man shifter.... :D

If crawl control didn't exist, I would have bought a standard. I've bought a lot of vehicles and this is only the second that's automagic. The first auto was a used Acura TL but I looked for standard and couldn't find one anywhere.

I would love to have a manual if I could drive one all the time but medical issue prevent that my car is manual though

I had an auto with crawl control. There’s times it’s pretty nice. For 95% of usage though, 1st gear, 4lo, ATRAC will get it done.

Really interested in getting this tune, seems like a must have for these 3rd gen tacomas just a little nervous i wont be able to figure it out seems like a lot of steps and im not the best with computers. Would somebody be willing to make a tutorial video please? It would make me feel a lot more comfortable dropping that kind of money

There are a few guys working on it and plenty of really knowledgeable people here who have helped many out.

    No worries brother

Got this off of ovtune website
    https://youtu.be/M2vii3K0OAI

Not much will change as far as install goes.
You can also download the instructions off of the website to preview them or just make a purchase and get everything sent to you as well as get support.

Do you have a decent computer?
Do you know how to install software?
Install drivers? (Like for a USB device)
Temporarily turn off a virus blocker?
    Unzip a file folder?

Doesn't get more technical than that really.

If that seems daunting, then perhaps see if you can find someone here that's near you who can help get you squared away.

Going to be flashing Truck soon using my desktop PC with Windows 10 64. Anything I should watch out for VS. Using a laptop? Kind of a dumb question but I don’t want to overlook something simple. I have a decent understanding of computer use for tasks like this, Just haven’t picked up a laptop in a decade lol.

A decade ago they were heavier than today's desktops. So you should be fine.
