    Just use a trailing stop of at least $0.75...I don't think that would have exercised in the last 5 days...and would have gotten you through this trench...That's about 20% of the low point...So if you're working of % it's a 20% loss..

    So back in 2009 VXX was over 100k a share ... with that in mind wouldn't it be wise to have 10 shares or so while it's cheap just in case SHTF ??

    That’s a good point, but why didn’t it spike up there during this recent volatility in March? The VIX itself got almost as high as in 2009.

    this is pretty much what I noticed. It looks like it was introduced in 2009 after the financial crisis. And has since either decayed or what, I don’t know. But yeah if it would be the same you’d think in the past few months it would at least be 30k+ if 2009 was 100k neighborhood. I don’t know enough about vxx though.

    True, but it did go from 13 and change to over 60 a share ... although didn't stay there long.

    Good % gain though ... somebody somewhere probably enjoyed a quick double and then left some house money.

    I think most of vxx is puts and calls rather than buy and holds. But I could be wrong.

    I'm done with VXX. I'm sticking to shit I can predict better like NVDA. And selling covered calls on WLL and MFA. I've got calls on both that will expire worthless July 17. Then I'm going to sell more for Dec. I won't make all my losses back but it will be close. I'm selling them for more then my cost basis so if they get exercised I'll be ahead and I finally get rid of the damn things. They are literally the only 2 loosing positions in my portfolio. lol
