Bummer! That would have been a deal killer for me, even now I wonder if I should update to beefier axles

I think you’ll be fine as long as you’re not running regularly over weight. If so i think if you drive it conservatively you’ll be fine...if not fix and sell :>)

Thanks to the heads up from this site, my OEM rubber mat came. Not bad for $80 shipped from a dealer in Pennsylvania.

Noice! I have a 440 coupe and a Taco. :gossip: If you haven't already; look up "Code My Car". ECU update is something pretty special, and I don't even have the M-Comp, just the 440 xDrive Coupe MT

Thank you . I missed my old one . It’s hard to believe it’s been eleven years . That e30 was special.

Only thing I did today was touch up the skids with some bedliner.

I noticed some bits of rust on the frame welds. Looks like it's time to hit it with rust stopper or rust reformer and put a good undercoating on it. I assume everyone here does fluid film?

That’s not rust but some fluid film never hurt a Toyota frame .

Not rust on the frame welds? I mean it looks like rust, so I just assumed the welds were a bit less...coated...than the frame itself.

Slight yellow tint ? Paint flaking? Only at the welds? Don’t undercoat it. Undercoat is porous . Scuff it with scotchbrite and use SEM e-coat (black) in the spray can . Wait for it to cure and fluid film it .

Only at the welds, looks like the frame itself is in good condition (which it should be with only ~6000 and 6 months on it).

That is totally normal. Check out others when you get a chance . It’s not rust though it’s the color of the weld . The beams are raw substrate the welds don’t accept the paint because they are smooth and not roughed up so the paint doesn’t adhere as well . I’ve got 93ish thousand miles on mine I drove through brackish water up to the doors and on the beach . I treat mine every year and no b.s. the frame looks better than when I bought the truck 4 1/2 years ago but yeah same welding process. I’ve seen it on new trucks on the lot .

Oh interesting, so the weld just looks...brown/goldish? And all you do is yearly fluid film?

I like the old ones too. A buddy of mine has 5 of them and he is working on refurbishing a 1972 2002 model. Dated someone a while back that had a 650i convertible. She would rather drive my truck so I spent a lot of time behind the wheel if hers and it sure spoiled me...lol.
