How far were you looking? Cause at shorter distances <600ish yards Id agree, theres lots out there that will do the trick and appear to be just as good as a more expensive optic. The differencess can be easliy seen once you really start to stretch your distance to the target.

I want to be able to plunk crap from 100 yds with iron sights :anonymous:
That's not an unreasonable expectation is it? I mean without having to buy expensive stuff to do it?

You want that cqb style; clearing immediate area, doorway, sweeping your sectors of fire and establishing a dominant position type thing.

    That was the fun shit

Not at all unreasonable. Understanding how your sights adjust is a place to start, as often they will be much more coarse adjustments then a scope. Shoot a few groups at 50, then walk it out to 100 or even further. Once you have a zero at 100, its all just math (or use of an internet ballistics calculator) to get you out as far as youd like. Cant see the front sight or having trouble with it blending in to the target? Hit it with some flat black paint, bushnell sight black, or what High Power guys prefer: Carbide smoke.

Look into the Appleseed Program. They teach marksmanship based on the WW1 & WW2 US Army methods. https://appleseedinfo.org/ Classes taught all over the US, all you need is a .22, a sling, and a few hundred rounds of ammo.
