Well, the clutch went in the truck over the weekend :(

My dad was driving it at the time it went and said that he was driving and went to shift into 2nd, and then nada.
    I met up with him:
    • started it, pushed the pedal down, little resistance, pedal still came back up
    • Pushed clutch pedal in, shifted to 1st, slowly let out clutch and nothing till the last bit of travel and a very rough feeling/sound like it somewhat caught but skips

I am hoping this is just a clutch job and not the input shaft (My T.O.B. has been squeeky since day one)

All that being said, where did everyone go to get a clutch kit? I remember calling around roughly a year ago to get pricing and the ASIN clutch kit was coming in around $450+tx. Seams prices have gone up since then.

Carquest in Lower Sackville: ASIN kit they can look up is ~$8xx.00 +tx, computer issues is stopping them from looking up their part number to see the cheaper alternative
NAPA in Lower Sackville: ASIN kit is $1146.99 +tx

    Now i found this one:
Part Source in Lower Sackville: https://www.partsource.ca/products/mu72208-1-perfectionnew-oe-clutch-kit?_pos=3&_sid=8d43c0562&_ss=r
$519.99 +tx but this is a random brand I never heard of. Anyone have any history with the no-name clutches?
They have this one in stock in Dartmouth... tempted to go for it.

Rock Auto have the Aisin for $364, plus about $50 shipping. The Exedy also seems popular at $290. They usually ship pretty quick.

Edit, that's the 2006 page but clutch should be the same
Edit 2, Tacoworld members get a 5% discount - check out rock auto's thread for the code
Edit 3, while you're searching and spending money, clutchmasters make an internal hydro slave which you have to admit sounds pretty impressive

I bought a Luk kit from Rockauto, with a flywheel also. Around $450 to the door.

Dam, how could I forget about Rock Auto! I think that is the way to go for sure.. I have my parents dodge van in the mean time, so waiting for the shipping isn't too bad of a thing.

Now I'm wondering if I should get the kit that comes with the oversized throwout bearing + input shaft sleeve, or stick with the orginial

I've been spending a lot of time on rock auto lately!

Can't help you with the oversized tob decision, I'm planning to replace my (factory style) slave cylinder soon but I'm too chicken to get into anything deeper than that right now.

Why thank you. It's set up for camping right now. You should check it out sometime.

In other news, my trailer needs an inspection. Harder to find a place than I'd thought.

I know its a long ways away, but Kentville Chrysler does trailer inspections, if you happened to be heading through the Valley anytime in the near future

If I am so lucky as to be heading out your way, I hope it will be to check out your new Taco and go out for a run!

Have you tried F& Wright auto in lower Sackville? I got my motorcycle inspection there, and motorcycle inspection stickers are just trailer stickers, so they probably do trailer inspections as well.

I got a trailer inspected that me and a buddy built, at Work & Play in Burnside, was hassle free.

Canadian Tire in Bedford does trailers too. Had mine done there before I sold it.

Anyone know who can properly press in a 1st gen front wheel bearing? Had a genuine Toyota bearing replaced a couple years back and it's already bad. Imagine they side-loaded it when pressing it in or when pressing back in the hub. I have a press but it isnt large enough and I dont have the proper pieces for a wheel bearing.... I dont really want to pay a shop again if they dont know what they are doing.

@TacoMitch93 I'd imagine your old man has done a few ;)
