I'm running 14ga. wire from my Blue Sea Fuse Panel to the 12v outlet in the bed. I'm thinking about bumping to 10ga. to maybe get more accurate voltage and reduce the resistance over distance.

I may have to bump up as well I don’t remember if I used 12 or 14 gauge

I remember using 14ga. and I'm similar in settings to you. I'm going to wait another 2 hours and check battery voltage with my multimeter. I seem to lose 2v per division with the supplied guages.

Just went for 4 hours 90 degrees out fridge and freezer dropped the battery only 0.3v so we golden. With it packed I’m sure will be another story (I did drop the compressor into eco mode) my gatorades are cold and ice cream frozen

I've checked voltage myself and I'm still 4v higher than what the app tells me. If it keeps it up, I'll just rock it that way.

If any of you guys have a way to accurately measure the amps per hour draw on the new dual zone fridge, please report back. It would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

Wow, that is huge. I have a first gen short bed... Maybe the other fridge is a better choice

It's pretty big. I don't mind, but if you don't have other methods of storing/bringing camping gear, it takes up way too much of the bed. I have alternate storage and my camping setup is pretty condensed, so it doesn't affect me, that much.
I think it's a little more than the old 52-quart. Nearly double, it seems. We'll see, but I'll try to test the draw, if I remember, tomorrow.

I have the 52qt, and have measured the draw at approx .92amps/hr, taken over a 72hr period.
Two amps/hr may rule this out for me.
    Thank you.

    Cheers

It's definitely feeling like more, but how much I can't quantify. I'm also getting my settings corrected for what I need and I didn't start on 100% battery power. For those reasons, I wouldn't condemn it, yet. It is performing adequately but anecdotal performance is anecdotal.

    Boosted Money Pit....
Stock would last 1-1.5 days. I had it on that to start then moved to a Northstar 31M AGM then added solar. Lasted 10 month before a dead battery. a had to add a bit to boost the voltage. Since then switch to. Dual battery and more solar now it runs with no issues. I’d reccommend an AGM if you plan to run all the time for longer trips and or carry a battery pack jumper with you.

Has anyone had any trouble with these? I bought one used from a TW member and it worked great for a few months but then stopped cooling. Still runs but just won't cool anything down... I even primed with cold/frozen contents.

I think it might something with the power in my garage because my sons scooter is having a problem now. Also the breaker was tripping right before the fridge problem. Tried to contact the manufacturer but their contact form wasn't working. Wouldn't mind getting some parts and trying to make it work but haven't been able to find any.

They are to change min allowed temps and how many degrees change before running compressor again. I have not played with any of those settings yet.

Like Mike said it's the temperature thresholds. I've played with mine and it really doesn't make a difference. Temperature still goes outside the thresholds beyond the settings although the compressor does kick on sooner.

Thats kind of what I figured. I am trying to figure out the what temps the compressor starts and stops at.

The big fridge definitely drains mine faster than the old 52-quart. It went 23 hours before voltage protection on the low setting kicked in.

I have a 24F Northstar AGM (single battery setup) with 100w solar and a Battery Tender Jr. trickle charger. My driveway is completely covered by trees, so my solar barely provides anything, so power was supplied by my battery and the trickle charger. Looks like I need a dual battery. :spending:

Confirmed it’s tighter but as you see I still have the bottom seat portion installed.

Props to mike for stellar customer service. He has gone above and beyond With any issues I had. Can’t wait to test this out over the weekend.
