Did you say that was Kendall in Texas? So that would be $23,700 with the rebate?

Fox or Poe Toyota? I tried buy a Pro at Poe at they had a crazy mark up on it. They wouldn’t budge. I ended up buying a DCSB OR in cement with LED’s from Larry H Miller Toyota in Albuquerque. They meet me halfway in elephant butte to sign paper work and pick up truck.

Oregon, it’s whatever the rebate is when you pick it up

Kendall just got back to me. They have them priced at 36,200 and said they’d only be able to take “50 to 100 bucks off” :annoyed:

When I was looking to buy mine in El Paso the sells guy told me you will need to come into the dealer to close a deal so I told him that I can close a deal online and no what I'm going to pay. It's sad that I really try to buy at my local dealer if I can but in the end you have to go with the best deal you can even when that means going outside your local dealer

Well that’s crappy, they had all them pre sold when mine came in , he said they have 2200 cars and trucks coming in the next 6 weeks, also I forgot it’s Kendall of Eugene not Kendall of bend ( same owners )

I feel like that is slap in the face on a $36k vehicle. Just say $0/no. Don't think anyone is going to be swayed by that...

Exactly, I gave up after that. $100 wouldn’t even cover the gas to drive there and back.

Inventory seems to running low on the Tacoma 4x4 trucks. The best time to get what you wanted was in march and april

I guess I'm gonna jump in here as I've been pretty frustrated with negotiations the last month.

I've noticed the same thing. I had a deal back at the end of May with Royal Moore in Oregon for a TRD OR DCLB for 35178 (MSRP was 39103) which wasn't totally awesome but it was respectable. I ended up passing on it, regret that now as no dealers are doing anything on price in my state. Oregon is still wiggling but not much. I contacted Kendall a week ago maybe and their best offer was 3154 off MSRP including the rebate. What pisses me off is that the rebate is practically negligible in the price of the truck, it's Toyota money not dealer money yet every dealer treats it like they are helping me out by applying it. Even dealers that have pre COVID trucks they've been holding on to for 90+ days aren't budging but hey, if you can sell a truck for $1500 (or $1750 in some areas) off MSRP they basically sold it for MSRP, which is thousands above what they are buying them for, even invoice can be a good 1k/2k maybe even 3k in some cases above what they are in them. MSRP/Invoice/Trunk money + whatever bonus they get for selling X amount. Dealers are frustrating. I don't expect them to piss the truck away but god damn, just move the units, ya know?

I've basically given up for the next few months. I think it will stay this away till about August maybe September at the latest leaving Oct/Nov for a good time to buy (maybe) but once MY2021 arrives those will be up charged for a bit, starting the cycle all over again but hopefully without COVID as a factor.

October will be when they want the 2020 out to make room for the 2021 but stock will b limited with color and options. The big savings were late march and April with the covid-19 scare cause noone wanted to buy till other dealers were offering 0% and had thousands off msrp. Sorry you missed the boat on alot of that

I'm sure many missed that. I know I did because if not being 100% sure of both of my income streams at the time. Worry over interaction with people and not wanting to take too many risks. I also think some people naturally felt like they needed to cut back spending and save just in case it was worse or lasted longer. I know I did. The cost of being conservative sometimes. However I'm glad I didn't buy then because at the time I didn't know what was ahead and it could have been worse and I may have needed that savings for other expenses. I may not have a new truck but I have more savings. This truck shortage will pass in time.

Put a deposit down on a truck 3 weeks ago called the dealership today for a update turns out they cannot find the truck they were trying to get in. Aggravating and disappointing to say the least they claim to have found another if they give me waiting period of a month or 2 I'm pulling my deposit out and starting over. Any of you guys ever run into this issue before?

New guy here -- Long-time Toyota pick-up and 4Runner owner; 1st Tacoma. I just paid $34,200 (B4 tax, etc) for a 2020 SR5 (Don't care for the TRDs) 4x4 DCSB w/black package, floor mats/door sills, and mud flaps. I live way up north and didn't have the time/inclination to travel to the city for another $1k off.

I had one dealership I contacted near DC via CarGurus asking me to come down and give them a deposit after the truck they listed in the site was not even available. It was actually not even built yet. I'm not sure about that. I'm not willing to make the drive from PA when they aren't willing to talk price via E-Mail.

Given the current environment, patience is key if you don't absolutely need a truck now. Supply & Demand will continue to shift, until it does, its a sellers market plain and simple.

I got an estimate from a dealer for an SR5 dcsb 4x4 for $32,757 including destination charges and the $1500 cash rebate. I'm not sure what extra options or accessories are built in to the truck. No mention about dealership fees. I can estimate taxes and registration fees. Not sure if that's a good enough deal to jump on or wait. I haven't been able to get any competitive offers to judge it against.
