How easy is it to spray Duracoat?

I've heard it's not too bad, but have never sprayed any myself.

Alumahyde from Brownells is similar. You can air dry it and let it cure for a week before use (on plastic parts). But if you use it on steel or aluminum, you let it dry overnight and then bake it for a couple hours and it’s good to go. I’ve used it on handgun slides and AR parts and it’s pretty awesome. I’d highly recommend it as an option for DIY painting.

I’ve used this in the past with pretty poor results. I prepped/cleaned to no end, just wasn’t happy with the results?

I’ve been pretty happy with it. One thing I noticed is that it sprays on thick and get thinner/lays flat as it dries. The initially spray looks like you used plastidip on the part but as it cures it shrinks and you get a cleaner result. Otherwise I haven’t had any complaints.

FWIW, I forget the year it changed, but the trigger group may be plastic or aluminum. One might be harder than the other to get paint to stick to. Needdogdigs's looks like the plastic version. I could be wrong. Been a while since I was "into" tweaking 10/22's.

I’m such a dumb-ass, I’ve used Dura Coat a few times, hell, I even have a new can on hand. Cerakote is the one that requires baking on.

I’ve used Alumahyde on several builds, I cured it in the oven at around 200 degrees on 10-22 receivers, of course this was when I was living in my bachelor townhouse, wifey probably wouldn’t stand for that now! It’s expensive stuff and has to be shipped a certain way and that’s that’s expensive too but it’s great stuff. I bought extra can nozzles so I didn’t have to waste any by doing the upside down spray/clean method.

The only thing I want to to do to my ruger 10/22 is get a bigger stock so it does not feel awkward when I point and shoot.
The whole thing is pretty tiny.

    Any you recommend.
