I think he was just referring to a new 2020 L in comparison to that the zero miles R listed on ebay

2007 was the last year for the xr650R

I lived in argentina for a few years growing up and always remember seeing honda xr600r everywhere (they are street legal in south america, unlike the north american xr600r)
So naturally the closest thing here state side would be the street legal xr650l...

its not just small bikes. some small bikes are cool. 4stroke 250 dirt bikes rip and are cool. small cc 2 strokes rule. shit even some small scooters have their place and are fun because they're still 2 wheels and a lot of fun, its just that....
this. these small dual sports are so painfully slow you will absolutely hate it.

well I mean thats very small, its like...cool to fart around your land and let people abuse, idk...more of a toy.

I'm primarily talking about wr250 & klx250. bikes that are pretty much full sized and feel like they have 4hp.

ill disagree. wr250 and drz get the job done. just dont expect them to be great. the wr/500exc are the two id pick if you want a semi-street but more offroad capable. i wouldnt even consider a 450f/fx for street sm (i raced a 450f converted). the 690e (which i have) is still better behaved on the street, good for fire roads but im not taking it on something id take my 300 which i would do with a wr or 500.

so would this be to say that an r3 or cbr300 are pointless because they are full size and low HP as well??

I think the point was that not everyone needs the same power output and suspension capabilities right off the shelf that a higher end model may offer...

I know i am not the only one here who admired respected and appreciated you riding your ducati scrambler in a sand pit, that bike would shame a wr250 on the street just like a wr250 would more than likely outrun a scramlbler in the sand pits....

i think, idk, never rode a scrambler nor a wr250 so wtf do i know maybe i am fatally flawed

the small sport bikes still have a decent purpose as entry level street bikes or learning how to ride fast on a track. small bikes are fun. slowER bikes can be fun and useful. I became a WAY Better rider when I got the scrambler after 10 years of sport bikes, because I learned how to use power, throttle control, something not so harsh and aggressive as a super sport...and all that jazz.

so, I HEAR what you're saying...but ride one of those 250s and let me know how it feels when someone jogs past you

Good lil scoot today. Steamy as hell, and windy as well. I was gonna hit the parking lot for some slow speed practice, but too damn hot for that! Imperfect day of riding still beats a good day at work! :notsure:

Get out and ride y'all! :bikewheelie2:

yea you have a point, the r3 and crb300 isnt exactly a fair comparison low cc bikes, I said that to myself as I was posting..

    :anonymous:

I have my heart set on a xr650l for like the last 10-20 years, but I also have never ridden one and I also understand there will be a bit of "oh shit this is tall heavy carbed slow POS sucks" lol

yes it was designed in 1492, and weighs as much as a horse they brought over on the ship when discovering america....but you'll also be able to bring a crescent wrench, a roll of duct tape, a pack of bubblicious, 3 zipties, and be prepared enough to ride around the world

Yeah I wasworried about the streetablity of the WR.

The thing I am attracted to the DRZ is the straight reliability of it. It's more streetable than a WR, but less nimble in the woods. I'll be doing more forest roads rather than single track. It's also been a long time since I've been in dirt, a slower clumsier pig isn't bad for me to get reacquainted with it. I work on my truck several times a week constantly maintaining or modding. I don't need something that requires constant attention, I need it to just work.

    I know that sign lol.

I got the wr450 with the intention of making street legal. Which I still plan on doing. After I buy new suspension for the truck then I'll buy a set of supermoto wheels from warp9. My one friend has the husky fe450 and my other buddy has a ktm530. They both have both setups for their bikes street and dirt.

This is all three of the bikes that I listed above

I almost texted my friend at the Harley/BMW/Ducati dealership about a Scrambler. But they self control kicked in. I need to at least pay off my current bike..
