Broad question. But if you were SASing a daily, in theory you can do it in 2 halves: doing the crossmember/however u gone mount it, as well as the axle itself, all the steering/leaves or coils.

Can drive it like that with no driveshaft or touching the tranny and do all that in a second half w/ a 2wd truck till its done, correct? Am i missing something? Just thinking

He just wants to Steal a leaf or two out of them, not the whole pack.

But they still might be completely different

Basic answer, yes. As long as everything in on the front axle to allow driving, you could SAS the truck and do the trans/tcase at a later time and be able to drive it. Front driveshaft is not required.

I don't think I've ever seen one for sale though so it's understandable that people overlook them.

I have an old friend who bought a blue/white FJ55 new in the fall of 1979. Must have been one of the last ones. I think it was a 1980 model. He would buy some new rare/unusual car, drive it for 9 or 10 months, and then sell it for more than what he paid for it. He sold it to a building contractor who kept it for years.

I think this is the ad and sale price for the red one.
