They have a 2-pack of Blaaaa(aaaaaaa)ck and something else at my costco. Not a big scotch guy but I have been thinking about giving it a try

I love the stuff, but I'm a peat head. Have you tried any Ardbegs or other Islay peated scotches?

Nope, pretty much nothing in the scotch realm. Same with Japanese too - tried a few, they tasted like scotch, didn't try anymore.

Scotch has so many varying flavors across their regions of production. Definitely give a peaty scotch a try at a bar before buying a bottle. In my experience trying to share my bottles with my bourbon buddies - they can't stand peated Scotch. I'm the odd man out in our group lol

You very well may be like me and try it and fall in love with the stuff, but you may likely wind up like most Bourbon guys and not care for it one bit. It'd be a bummer to drop a pretty penny on a bottle of stuff you may not enjoy.

pretty much all I drink now. I did the whole “collecting thing” but I just love all things ardbeg. 10 year is my daily and once in a while I’ll splurge for a more expensive bottle. Wee bittie was pretty good for a five year but at the price it is then ten over powers it. Only other whiskey I keep around now is wild turkey 101.

Nice. I love Ardbeg... currently doing the collecting thing myself, and I've yet to meet an Ardbeg I didn't like. The 10 year old is fantastic, and I'd drink Corryvrekan every day if it weren't so expensive - especially now since the tariffs went into effect last year.

So I had a really unique experience this morning.

There's a new place that opened up in Omaha called Wine Beer and Spirits. basically they bought an old Toys r Us building and converted it into a liquor store. This is the type of place that I have been wishing for for a long time.

While I was browsing I ran into the guy that turned out to be the manager so as a Jack Daniels collector I asked him about ordering some specific bottles. he gave me his email and told me to send him a list and he would check with the Jack Daniels rep who was due in today.

While we were still talking the Jack Daniels rep actually showed up and was able to pull out his tablet and confirm that he could order single bottles of various sizes that I am looking for for my collection! The Jack Daniel's rep was able to confirm that a couple of bottles do not exist, but also confirmed that a few I did not know existed are actually real!

The manager and the rep agreed to order these bottles and I should be able to pick them up tomorrow afternoon!

Here's just a couple of photos that do NOT do this place justice!!

There's aisles for each type... Whiskey/Bourbon, Scotch, Rum, Vodka, wines, beers, etc... Biggest selection in one place that I've seen. They had a JD barrel at the check out that was full of 50ml bottles.. haha the barrel wasn't for sale tho.

The prices are kinda all over the place. Most are lower than other places but ECBP was around the $70 mark... All of the Mitchers were $40 (regulars not specials)

    Timing is everything!!

That's badass, and congrats on the new bottles headed your way!

I'm still jealous that ECBP is readily available, even at the inflated price :jellydance:

The inflated price annoys me but that because I get it at Costco for $54.99... any time I see it over $60 I shake my head... I've seen it as high as $85!! I understand these people need to make a profit but greed is stupid!

Not gonna lie I'd buy it at 70 out here if I saw it. The one bottle I scored this year that was brought out of the back was 62.99 I think.

    I NEED MORE!
