Found the droning sound. It was bad between 50-60. Now it's no more. :yay:

It's not too bad. Maybe 90 minutes.... Remove the air filter, unlock the 3 coil wire connectors. I squeeze the lock tab and twist a screwdriver between the connector and coil to loosen. I cannot take my coils out without unplugging them, ymmv.

The driver side is a little tighter. There is a bracket for the plenum to the block that needs to be disconnected and swung out of the way. I generally have to unplug the hose to my PCV valve as well.

Change plugs with a cold engine. you stand much less of a chance of screwing up the threads up on the head.

Also, a little bit of anti seize on the threads of the new plug. And when you install them, unscrew them and feel for the threads to drop. That will be both ends of the threads and when it drops the threads are lined up.

    Good luck.

Thanks, that sounds far easier than doing a ford van where you have to remove the fuel injection system first....

Ford makes their vehicles without any forethought into changing anything. My girlfriends escape for example, I was going to change the battery after it went out and found out you have to take the hood off, the windshield cowl, wiper motor, and a couple other things just to change the battery!

Yeah, the shop quoted a grand to do the plugs and coils, I said, hell, I'll just do it myself. I bought the parts, opened the hood, scratched my head a bit, then took it back to the shop.
I asked my brother about it, he was a certified mechanic and specialized in transmissions. He refused to work on them.

Spent 8 hours and 2 spools of wire finishing my bumper. Could've used another 8 hours to make it look like a 2000$ bumper but I'm on vacation and am over it. Found a brand new, still had sticker on it 33 on facebook for 75$ as my spare
