Does this new version require changing the placement of the strut mounting hardware that's already riveted in?

 

Yes

 

I'm guessing the ditch lights would hit the windshield at that height though.

 

Actually, the customer who came in for our photo shoot had the brackets for the ditch lights installed and they weren't close to touching, so they should work with lights installed. See the picture below:

 

That's just the brackets though. I have your regular kit and my ditch lights barely clear. I would guess the brand of the lights would matter but here's mine with some Nilights.

 

Do both mounting points have to be changed, or can one point be re-used?
