It should be fine. If it was bent in the opposite direction it might not engage. I would not apply heat.

Shouldn't be a problem. Might be a bit tighter to fit it over the clip but it should be fine.

Hey guys, any idea why my vent rings aren’t exactly flush with the trim around it? I swear I followed every detail of the install but something doesn’t look quite right. Hopefully these pix show the alignment issue.

the one on left driver side did that to me too. I popped out several times and tried putting back in but still stayed that way. Driver right side did too but not as bad.

Mine do that too. I just figured that’s how they are supposed to lay, as I didn’t really pay attention to the chrome ones I removed.

Zoom in a bit and you can see them

I believe you but I can't tell in the pics. Can you guys hightlight where specifically the issue is? I'm sure it's easier to tell in person.

It's not the "ring" issue, it's the bezel trim that is offset. It's the factory trim and all the trucks are like this. Only way to have make it flush is to not actually have the trim seeded in all the way, which would be weird and could rattle. It's been that way from day one, just noticed the offset when people started installing the rings.

So are the stock vent ring on that side flush? It's weird that Toyota made 3 that are the same and then one that's off.

    The stock ring wasn't flush.

After a lot of head scratching I went out and looked at my original chrome rings.
The stock rings aren’t even all the way around. They vary in depth depending on which one, and some differ in depth considerably from one side to the other... Which means that unless the MESO ones were also varying in depth, this odd offset is the result for anyone using them.
It’s a minor detail and most people wouldn’t notice it but it’s worth the discussion.
