I think they have ditched Renault and went in with Mitsubishi, 34% or so owned by Nissan.

I may take a hard look at the new Frontier when my Tacoma lease is up in two years. The new powertrain sounds excellent and the form factor may have improved as well. Nissan overall appears to be in trouble though.

Looks like a Ram, ZR2, Tacoma and Exterra all in one. The fender bulges look like they came direct off a 2nd gen Tacoma. I see some Ford design cues too. There's probably some Jeep styling in there somewhere.

3rd gen sales should expect an upset. That's if midsize truck sales continue to be a thing in the US.

it took them 15 years to update and all they did was likely wait for the new Tacoma to be released and then tried to one up everything on it. I’m sorry to all that are interested but they leaked image looks stupid.

90s to early 2000s nissans were actually pretty IMO. Knew quite a few people with nissans and were great. My mom had 2001 sentra 5spd and man, that car just wouldnt die.

Would not buy a nissan now though. Well i would have had to if tacoma didnt offer MT. Thank god they did, ha!

The high price tag on Full Sized Trucks almost guarantees continued success of the Mid-sized category although they are getting pricey too so a lower cost compact category should soon follow.

I mean like Tacoma sales are already down along with all new vehicle sales. Throw in a vehicle that checks all the superficial boxes as this rendering does, look out if it comes equipped with grill lights.

Toyota loyalists in the market for a new midsize pick probably won't stray, but a manual 4cyl option would help Toyota keep their customers.

EV owners will probably jump at the F-150 with the power inverter.

I came from a 2017 frontier crew cab and the turn radius always drove me insane.

So for shits and giggles I started building a Pro-4 as comparable as possible to my Tacoma.

Then I got to the Accessories section. At least in my area, I'm skeptical when members mention stolen tailgates but Nissan has a new one for us to all worry about - they're stealing our jerbs airbags.

    Is that really a thing?

it's real, I wonder who would actually try to break in to a vehicle and take the airbag out with the battery still giving power to the vehicle.

I believe that Nissan is killing that option as well, so people that want a 4 cylinder MT option are gonna need to keep looking elsewhere. I'm not sure where they'd look, but Toyota isn't going to lose any sales to Nissan over it.

My step brother has a 2014 pro4x. He loves it other than the shitty turning radius. He made the radius even worse by adding larger tires LOL.

Huh? The 3rd gen Tacoma has been around since 2016 and is largely based on the 2nd gen, it's not difficult to "one up" at this point. Most people don't realize that the 05+ Frontier has had minor updates every 4-5 years or so and now a major one with the new drivetrain.

The leaked image appears to be a 3d model, I reckon it's a concept image of some proposed Nismo edition. The truck looks far more realistic in Nissan's teaser video but definitely shares some cues with that leaked image if you ask me!

Yeah Nissan killed the 4 Cylinder option along with the MT from 4 and 6 Cylinders.
