I’m not super huge in to it or getting records, but you can just hit record when you start riding, and stop when you’re done. It will pause automatically and do everything for you without any effort. Just saying, it’s cool to see how much you climbed, the time, and the speed in different sections

It's also handy for keeping up with service intervals.

dude this is terrible advice. especially without asking any clarifying questions.

What's the pain feel like? Does it happen only when you ride, or after, the day after, all of that? where is the pain? does it go down your leg at all? is it just in your taint? or your butt muscles and sit bones? and how long have you been riding, and how often do you ride?

don't just keep riding through pain.

I like to reduce my technology and data usage when I'm not working. That's kind of the point of being outside for me since my job involves a lot of software development and database management.

I do know how it works since most people I ride with use it. However, I know that I would forget to start it at the beginning of a ride or I'd forget to stop it or I'd just forget my phone completely. I'm not telling anyone else that they shouldn't use Strava, or that it's bad, I just don't have any interest in looking at more data.

I'm a little jealous of all the groms at my local downhill park. they can rip but they grew up with lift serve down hill and bike specific camps. growing up mountain biking to me was riding some gravel paths up in maine and occasionally a narrower path.

Exactly. No coincidence half the rampage riders grew up in the vicinity of Virgin, or somewhere in BC

I went hiking in zion last year and as i was driving in i was impressed with the number of sick bikes i was seeing, then I realized I was in virgin haha.

I'm over here learning to hit medium sized drops and jumps at 30 and these kids are out here hitting pro level features at 10.

Exactly. We "adults" have to worry about things like "making it to work on monday" and 'crippling medical debt"
