    I don't know.

I have no experience trying 4runner rims on a Tacoma but just saying there is a difference in the backspacing of the OEM wheels between the 4runner and Tacoma so you will see a difference visually for sure.

+1. I've got friends who run them on both 1st and 3rd Gen Tacomas where they fit and look fine. I've seen photos of them on 2nd Gens too, so I think the same is true there as well.

I don't have them yet but they will be my next upgrade. Reason I was asking about fitment was a lot of websites say they're not compatible with the Taco. Just wanted to make sure they were before taking the plunge.

Hello from the top of Maine! If im understanding this correctly.... On my 07 taco i have stock rims with a positive offset of 30mm. I have 1.25 inch wheel spacers which is 31.75mm. If i want to keep that stance and throw the spacers i will need a rim that has a -1.75 offset? I currently am running winter tires 265s. I did have 285s on er. I want new rims with the same look as with the wheel spacers and run the 285s.

I know that this thread is very long and I couldn't find any definitive information on the weight of the TRD Off-Road Wheel - 2nd Gen and this is the closest I have been able to get from the Auto Rim Shop:

@Blondie583, You will most likely be able to run the same tires on the 8" wide rims. Most tire manufacturers give wheel width recommendations in their specs. The stock rims most likely are running a +30 offset so with your -12, you will be changing the offset by 42mm or 1.65 inches towards the outside.

Are you sticking with Steel on the new rims, or are you getting alloys?

Curious; why isn't backspace included with specs on the OEMs, in post #1? It's equally as important as offset.

Thanks for this. Used this thread to guesstimate potential rubbing issues with my TRD Beadlook (Beadlock) wheels before going to 285s. No cmc needed and no rubbing on the steering.

My ride came with the Gulf States Toyota 6 spoke wheels, I have noticed they are not as common.
I pulled the specs from the castings on the back if that's something worth adding to your list.

    Part# 929-GST
Dimensions: 16x7 J +30mm (I'm not sure about the significance of the "J")
Weight: Unknown at this time. When I get new tires installed I'll see if I can get the shop to weigh the empty wheels.

Backspace looks to be 4.75", I just put a straightedge across the back lip and a ruler up from the mounting surface so I was not 100% on that.
    It stands to reason though, ̶c̶e̶n̶t̶e̶r̶ ̶l̶i̶n̶e̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶7̶"̶ ̶w̶h̶e̶e̶l̶ ̶i̶s̶ ̶3̶.̶5̶"̶ ̶a̶n̶d̶ ̶3̶0̶m̶m̶ ̶=̶ ̶~̶1̶.̶1̶8̶"̶ ̶g̶i̶v̶i̶n̶g̶ ̶u̶s̶ ̶4̶.̶8̶6̶"̶.̶
    EDIT: Wheel width ÷ 2 + offset + ½” = Backspacing. So, 7 ÷ 2 = 3.5 + 1.18 = 4.68 + 0.50 = 5.18"

"Mold 1" and "PRIME Made in USA" are also cast into the back.

Hopefully this is useful to somebody out there.
    Here's a picture of mine.

I need to finish adding wheels to the first post. Believe it or not, I got hung up on finding info on the basic steelies.

If you know the offset, you can calculate the backspace: Wheel width ÷ 2 + offset + ½” = Backspacing

Edit: Many people don't realize a wheel's advertised width doesn't include the lip on each side. If you have a 7" wheel, it should measure 8" from lip to lip.

I didn't mean to seem like I was rushing you, just trying to make it easier for you haha!

I did not know about the +1/2", so by that the GST rims would be ~5.18" backspace.

I was thinking something like that, I got an 8" width measurement. I wasn't going to say anything though haha. I thought I was measuring wrong at first. :spy:

    Story of my life.

I was excited when I thought those were 4.75", meant my new tires would fit and look good! Now I might need to recalculate haha.

What tires? 285s? Most places will recommend a BS of 4.5". I think stock for Taco rims is 5.5". I've had a couple wheels with 5" and they fit without rubbing, but it was very close. My first aftermarket set of wheels on my Taco was 18x9 ±0 with 305s. I couldn't fit my finger between the tire and UCA, but they never rubbed.
