Back when I was a wildland firefighter we had a 7' wide cedar that got struck by lightning that had to come down. 088 with a 72" bar still took a long ass time, but that was neat. We had to spike and chain the whole thing afterwards to keep the tree poachers away

Joe Rogan not only is big proponent of them, he sells a really nice one. Hard to argue with the convenience/functionality of it, but got damn you can't make it look good

Fanny packs are under rated and incredibly handy. I have one for when I'm playing in the woods dressed as a bush.

I have a little pouch I use for the same, bow release, calls, etc. It's borderline a fanny pack but removable

If it is borderline it's still a fanny pack

    About halfway done...
So while working on last-minute projects before a trip I broke an ABS wire.
The wire pulled out of the connector plug.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to de-pin this plug?
I have tried jamming paper clips and needles next to the broken contact...

Pull that white plastic piece out with some small needle nose pliers and the retention barb is exposed. Using a small rigid poker press the barb down and gently pull the wire out from the rear of the plug. I've got a few extra misc plugs with pig tails if you need to splice in a fix. I had to replace the rear abs harness on the axle housing and kept it for if something like this came up.

I've used the WeatherPak plugs and there are a couple of 'ears/tabs' on the terminal. The removal tool slips over the contact end of the terminal and then the wire is pulled from the back.
Your plug looks like the release is above the contact and would require a screwdriver shaped and strength tool as well as a pull on the wire end via needle nose pliers.

Missed that. The white piece in the middle is a retention tab.

Thanks so much. I was about to just cut off the plug and install a different water rated plug. Now to see if I can solder to this crimped pin...

Success!! Tested wires with Multi meter got good connections. Best part is ABS light if off. I thought for sure I’d have to reset something to make the light go away.

Would not splice ABS wires. In that exposed location solder and heat shrink for sure or you’ll be back soon

meh, depends on the splice. I use splices from work that are used on a $35 million dollar helicopter. ill take my chances. especially since these are subjected to pressure washers, hydraulic fluid, and god knows what else the crewchiefs do to the helicopter when no one is looking
