Current set up changing rims at some point this month and adding different tires. What’s everyone’s opinion on the best set of off road tires?

    Welcome!!

youll get lots of opinions for tires here. I use Nitto terra grapplers one a c sidewall. Bigger, tougher, and lightweight so I didn’t lose any mpgs

Are you running a lift on your truck and if so how much? I have 2.5” lift on mine so that tire size would I expect any rubbing?

Short answer, yes. But it all depends on wheels and tire brand and a whole lot of other things. Search the forums and you will find lots of info. You’ll probably need at least a cab mount chop (CMC).

My truck has a 4 inch lift and no rubbing issues. A lot of guys run 285’s with smaller lifts but you might have to do some trimming and a cmc.

Gotcha the lift I have is adjustable I would have to upgrade the rear to accommodate the fronts I’ll have to look into it. Will also look into different tires sizes.

Opinions are like........ hmm never mind. I'm sure you know the adage.

Define what 'off road' means to you, and how often you know (not maybe someday) you will do it, and what % of your total mileage it will be.

Remember there are operational penalties and compromises for changes in weight, size, etc. So picking your functional need, not what looks hot in the mall parking lot, is the smart play.

Yeah completely understand that. I plan on using the truck to hit some trails in the area plus a hunting trip with some buddies next month in the Midwest. I’m a truck driver so pretty much will sit in my work parking lot when I’m working but besides that plan I’m seeing what’s in my area for trails.
