Getting closer to being done, waiting on the lathe man to finish cutting these little stops.

Friend brought this shaft by and ask me to fix it. Drilled and tapped both pieces after facing them off in the lathe to get them square and tig welded it. Put a 1” long 1/4” set screw in the center.

You just told us you don't run a lathe, when you're welding, (which I find suspect)....dammit.....make up your mind.
(nice work too, and don't tell anyone I saw this)

Haha you’re right. The guy that runs the lathe was on break and since this was a personal job I snuck it in while he was breaking.

Remember the 20 racks I made a couple weeks ago? Customer sent parts to powdercoater, powdercoater came to us to build racks. Supplied sample piece from customer at 4" long, rack drawings approved that my boss drew up, etc. Got them done, well guess what? They come to us today and they don't work, they have 2 different parts and one is 7" long and doesn't fit. Makes me so mad when people get in such a rush on a large job they forget what is actually going on. Luckily I get paid by the hour
