I was parked on the sidewalk the other day while working on a junction box and I was thinking it wouldn't be a bad idea to have some flashers on the truck. Most of the fleet trucks have them, so it probably can't hurt, right?

Anyone done this before? Where the best mounts are, or if I should just integrate into the existing lights?

Just want something that makes people notice so they don't side swipe the truck while its parked on the side of the road.

Also, not really looking for red/blue that will get me in trouble, but I don't think people even see the flashing hazards on parked cars anymore. They just zone out.

It can only help, especially when you're loading and unloading your truck, you could be hit too!
I'll look, but there's a thread way back when, a member did a slick install in the plastic bumper area by the plate, it looked clean.

Go amber, that would be allowed by law since technically you would be a service vehicle. If you don't feel like drilling holes on your truck go with magnetic type so you can store them when not needed.

Amber and white are usually safe colors. Check state laws because green, purple, and a few others can be allowed.

Stop by a local fleet maintenance shop. Like the water department, sheriff's office, etc.

Ask if they can give you some tips on products and install techniques.

Around here that stuff is mostly locally handled, and with clean results. Betting the guys wouldn't mind a few minutes break to brag on their work.

I have one of those amber "3rd brake" lights that goes under the tailgate, hooked to my switch pro, on strobe mode. Same with my front raptors. If I'm ever on the side of the road, front and rear strobe goes on. I'll turn the rear on with emergency stops on the freeway too, so I don't get rear ended.

I have a similar setup. At night, you can't tell the difference between me and a DOT truck.

I replaced my backup lights with feniex cannons. They have 3 input functions, so I was able to also use them as turn signals, and reverse lights, in addition to their strobe function. Definitely not a simple job with wiring and having to drill out the reverse bulb socket, but worth it to me. If you decide to go this route I can get you details on how I wired it up

Baja designs RTL. reds and amber are on one switch set to flash, white is on a separate switch set to strobe.

I haven't checked if they will fit in the crack between the bottom of the tailgate and the bumper, but I was thinking of installing a couple of these when they come out in a few weeks. I will mount two similar lights on the BAMF light bar mount I have installed at the front, as well. I am going for a low-profile, stealth install.

I've got two amber strobes on the top of my work truck. If it's daylight people give about zero fucks on paying attention to them, and I'm usually parked in a lane closure or median/sidewalk. 20200702_143752_HDR.jpg

    So others can chime in.

I have ALL of my lights set to the Switch Pros setup and I also have the RGB LEDS in the headlights.

With MY setup....I can put my Meso 3rd Brake light to do Amber and Red..front lights are fully customizable for any color.

The rears are great for strobes, fronts are what I decide to do to them.

I found this and it shows some of the Feniex lights on cop trucks, maybe this will give you all some ideas also.
