That may not be now but at one time (when I was growing up) I remember that you had to go out of state for non-dairy and margarine - just sayin LOL - we lived in New Richmond (NW part of the state) and went to MN to shop occasionally.

I keep a couple cans of Spam in the truck during hunting season.that and viennas are my go to then with crackers and cheese.Block of sharp cheddar.There is a little country store out there,still has a wood stove.proper ettique is say hi to the old guys around the stove.ask the guy if he has time to make you a sandwich even though he aint doin nothin.bologna and cheese please.No slicer here,he takes a butcher knife and cut about a 3/8 inch slab of bologna,same with the cheese and about 3 TBS of mayo wrapped in wax paper.best dang sandwich youve ever had!!

 

Dan lives up there in the "Land of Cheddar" I'm surprised he hasn't said that it's missing from his BLT!! And the POLL..

@Taco-Grinder how I miss good WI cheese. I remember when Coors was a big deal. Can't stand the stuff now. When I moved here 22+ years ago I brought a lot of Leinenkugel with me - this was before they got bought out and nationalized. I think I still have a case of empty bottles in the garage - LOL

 

I have family in Kansas. Everytime they come to visit they always go the liquor store for beer from the New Glarus brewery. Then to a cheese plant for fresh cheese curds.
Curds soo fresh they squeak when chue them.
Wash um down with a cold beer.

What are you going to do in Coldfoot? I don’t remember there being much around. I remember we went and visited the family in Wiseman on the way. It’s amazing how they just adapt to the environment in that little town of 12 (or something like that).

 

I can totally relate, about every other year when we come back and visit friends in Waupaca and Weyauwega we do the same. My wife is not from WI but is hooked on the Curds. We always bring home a cooler of cheese.

I have converted her to be a Packer fan, we used to go to a home game every season until the last two - was hoping to get back for one this season - will have to wait for 2021 hopefully.
