LOL -- I know the feeling.. I'm having it right now..

 

My GX does this in the head unit. Otherwise it's all in my head.

 

I have it every time I sell a build and swear I'll never build another because of how much money you never recover when it's sold.
Maybe it'd be smarter for me to go more the approach you have, look for one that can be reconditioned and at least break even or maybe even make a little by getting it fixed up.... Even that is probably hard to break even on huh?

 

Yeah I'll prolly just accept it and keep on doing it. It's too much fun

LOL.. Rightly or wrongly I rarely ever sell one. I just keep collecting. My first build I sold to our best friend after owning it for 10 years. So that one is close by and almost still in the family. If I'm going to do a full build, then I'll be keeping it for 10 years. Actually the money I save on insurance and tax by restoring Japanese cars from the 1990s compared to new usually pays for car and the mods. So if we drive a restored car for 5 years, the savings pays for it. Outside of basic service items, I don't usually need to touch them again for over 7 years.. I don't know of many new cars that you can buy and have for 7+ years of trouble-free driving.

The kids like to trade/rotate these old cars to keep from getting tired of driving the same thing all the time. Hey, I got a new car.

 

Depends on how you do it. The LT has its place in the world, but I'm surrounded by trails which almost require SA. But SAS is a bit more if you link. A whole LT can be done for about 5kish. You'd be struggling to do less than 7k for SAS.

 

Is a ful hydro steering setup for sas cheaper?

Been tripping over the bucket under it for years.
Standing seam metal roof over wood shake shingles above kitchen leaks.

 

6+ months, probably clogged the toilet at least 1x a month.

I'm sure the sewer line needs some TLC now

 

Stopped to clean up fireworks and trash left at the park when I was jogging through. Pisses me off when people just leave shit all over the place.

 

That's a great way to do business. It keeps customers coming back.

I've seen some Chrysler dealerships that do that in small towns and actually penetrate the market more than GM or Ford.

A long time ago, there was a Chrysler/Plymouth dealer here named Jennings that sold more way Chrysler Imperials than Lincolns and was a close match for Cadillac. They also sold more Plymouths than Dodge and nearly eclipsed Ford. Everybody loved Walter Jennings. Eventually, he retired and sold the dealership. The new owner(s) didn't have the personal touch. The dealership eventually disappeared into oblivion well before Plymouth and Imperial products were discontinued.

My local Toyota dealer is like that. 10 years ago it was the place to go, everyone cared. Then the owners kids took over or something. Now its full of typical smooth talking car salesmen, you never get the same service advisor twice, and all the techs from back then moved to other dealers and cited piss poor management when my dad would run into them and ask.

 

The Toyota dealer in my little town is family owned. I really love the parts department and service staff. I like them and buy small orders when I need next day parts. They are good people and do very well.

 

Looks like I need to step up my game.

I feel retarded that I didn't go full hydro to begin. The crossover isn't bad, but there's too many moving parts around hydro lines for me to feel comfy.

 

My house has Two spots lime that.... not looking forward to fixing it.
