For my TRD off road im going to install 5100's front and rear. im thinking 1.55 that seems to be the best height with out compromising the stock parts or replacing UCA's which i dont want to do now. im just wondering if i should go with the 1.5'' AAL or 2'' AAL. im not opposed to a bit more of a lift but im not sure what to go with hence why im here. thanks in advance

I’d go 1.5”. Manufacturers like icon say 1.5” with the overload removed and 2” with overload maintained. This gives you a little more flexibility in your setup.

    Cool stuff
I say stay away from the icon , go with the wheelers or headstrong add a leaf pack . Rides good but will sag over time

Recommend the Wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL.

I've had over 1000 lbs in the bed a few times and have had no issues with sag. Leaf has been installed 2 years now.

Nice looking trucks! I have a DCLB with a toolbox and it doesn’t look as long as y’all’s. How long did you leave it on the stretcher?

My previous truck was a 06 f150 with the 8’ bed. So the dclb was an obvious choice. Don’t get me wrong, off road the shorter wheelbase is king. But personally I need the longer bed more than I care about the clearance. The hitch doesn’t seem to mind! Haha it’s has seen better days.

I believe Icon/Wheelers/Headstrong/Toytec 3-leaf progressive AAL are all the same product, just relabeled for each brand.

I went with the 1.5" with overload out initially, later I added 1/2" of lift up front and put the overload back in to lift the rear 2".

Zero chance anybody is loading 1000 lbs in the bed on a stock leaf pack and an AAL and not sagging.

For you 3 leafers.. removing the overload spring is a 10% loss of payload. FYI.

Who said I removed the overload?
    20170810_161008.jpg

Load was 35 pavers at 37 lbs a piece, that's 1295 lbs. The truck dropped to level at that weight but it wasnt sitting anywhere at all on the bump stops. Once the load was removed the truck returned to original height and rake.

    20191206_114019.jpg
Will it compress under load? Sure but after heavy loads of rock, firewood and just last week the pavers, my 3 leaf hasnt developed any sag in two years.

Try it sometime, you might be surprised.
