Trouble with Cali raised ditch lights

You can probably pull the sheathing back and see if the wiring is reversed colors - assuming that the lights are wired normally internally...

 

I'd guess m8 or m6, but I don't honestly remember.

I started buying a few bolts every time I needed one. If I thought I would need an M8, I would buy that and one size up and one down, and with fine and course thread. I'd have the one I needed and put the rest in a bin. I am getting a pretty decent collection of standard and metric these days and I don't have to run for bolts often. I've been fixing an old Bronco, so I got really tired of running out for one or two bolts.

 

Started to do this but I think I broke the holder inside the clip fml. Now I have to find out where to get a dtp connector

 

This is turning into quite the adventure lol you'll get it eventually man, don't get discouraged.

So polarity was reversed at dtp connector but still nothing

 

My next step would be to bench test the lights. See if it's a light issue, or a wiring issue. I do that with a drill battery and a couple small strips of wire. Just connect it all and it should light up.

 

And they said it was a plug and play harness hahah

Well! Thank you all for your help. I went and bought new crimp connects and rewired the switch. And what do you know, they work.

I think the connections around the switch weren't great

 

The odds of both lights being bad are probably low, but the relay could be bad, or he could have a bad connection.
