Most everything gets watered by hand from the bottom. I give the blueberries a good soaking once a week. The raspberries and black caps I hardly water at all :notsure:

I feel watering by hand of the best method, time consuming but a great opportunity to check each plant, also keeps weeds down like whoa

I might try a fall crop of broccoli this year since we didn’t put anything in this spring. I have a few packs of bean seeds coming soon, and we put some peppers in her dads garden.

anyone do fall broccoli before? I’m thinking of getting started from seeds around mid August.

I've never tried fall broccoli but have done other fall crops. One thing I found out is, as the days get shorter and cooler things grow slower. I would expect it to take maybe half again longer than usual to grow.

That article says about 100 days from first frost. I’m trying to get seeds ordered now.

You may luck out if you’ve got a small farm or garden center near you I’ve done both spotting and fall and from seed and from transplants from a garden farm, had success with all of them. BEST THING TO DO is cover them with insect net to keep the white mouths from laying eggs under the leaves, cabbage worm is my nemesis...

My wife isn’t aloud in the veggie garden, maybe to water if I’m not around, she’s delegated to flowers only...

All the local small garden places went out of business. I’m relegated to ordering from burpee for plants, or big box stores. I ordered seeds from Amazon, and they will be here today.

I plan to start around 40 or so, in the hopes of harvesting around 24 heads. My boxes are empty, so i should have the room. Putting two boxes of beans in today or tomorrow, which leaves three boxes for broccoli.

You know after to harvest the heads they keep growing mini heads they the summer or in your case fall, I did 200 linear feet of broccoli 2 years ago and that lasted me and the wife into this past winter. No garden last year cause I bought a house and no time to get a plot in...

I’m aware of the side shoots. Not sure how many I’ll be able to get as I’m already pushing the average first frost day.

we were supposed to be moving and didn’t plant anything at our house. Then shit happens, and we are now staying. So I’m trying to get some things going.

The garden is doing pretty good. Walla Walla onions are almost ready. Garlic, peppers, tomato's, and corn are coming along. Tried to grow cucumbers and squash but the sprouts kept getting eaten. Guess they don't like peppers, so I have a lot of peppers this year.
