OVTune 3.5L Tacoma Supercharger and Twin Turbo Systems

I dont know much about the ceramic coating. Can the cast manifolds and the down pipes be coated? I like the idea of the ceramic coatings reducing under hood temps! Anyone with knowledge about ceramic coatings please help with some info thanks!

 

Does this mean the stock box will stay in the stock location or is the location being moved?

Originally it was going to be turned 90 degrees, with the opening pointing towards the back of the truck, but too many people have snorkels so that idea wouldn't work long term.

 

In my experience heat shield works better than certain coating.

I think it’s more of are you satisfied for a release tune. I imagine with turbos on his own truck he will never be “done” lol

I got mine too..weird (however it says it’s for the manifold deposit). I haven’t even specified which downpipe, selected fuel options, or tune yet? I assume it’s not really on its way. @OVTune can you clear this up.

Same here! Probably still waiting on DP’s though, since the cat/non cat/fuel upgrades email hasn’t gone out. I want the catted version if we can still pick.

Got all my exhaust material ordered, true dual 2-1/2” in 304 ss, vibrant ultra quiet res on each side (2nd cat delete), equal length y-pipe (for sound) into a Borla pro xs (dual in dual out), then to dual 2-1/2 exits (3” tips). I’m debating adding a cutout prior to the muffler, with a 3” dump. Why not... quiet on the road and a bit louder when needed.

 

Got my email...if the notification is correct it’s just the manifolds. My guess is the kit will be coming in more than one box and the notification is part of moving inventory out of warehouse to shipping but yeah I’d like the answers to those questions as well.

 

Cut-out sounds cool... wouldn't you need to alter the tune between the cut-out opened and closed states? It's hard to imagine the closed cut-out state won't impede the flow at full throttle. Whether it's measurable or not would require real world experience or a fluid dynamics engineer.

Curious to see how the dual exhaust with equal length Y-pipe works out. I'm guessing it will sound great.

Also received an email from OVT notifying me of a shipment. I feel like Ralphie anxiously waiting for his Red Ryder bb gun to appear under the Xmas tree.

 

I’m doing something similar. Equal length 2 1/2” Y—>2-1 collector—->3” midpipe—->vacuum solenoid cutout bypass—>side exit.

The muffler section is going through a stainless spintech muffler which has the IN/OUT on the same end. Both bypass and muffler 3” will exit out a hole in the bedside(in front of rear tire). All 304SS tig welded pie cuts + V bands throughout. Gonna be a lot of work but worth it.
