I am building a mid height RTT over bed rack and would like to make it so I can add things to the sides to hold stuff like bike mounts, gas cans, etc. The only specific need I will have is a way to mount a bike to each side with a RTT on top but don't want to pigeon hole the rack to do only one thing and wondered if there is a standard system for hole spacing or something to receive bolt on accessories easily. It seems that there is not one single industry wide standard, but maybe there are popular or brand specific standards that are useful?

I looked on a few manufacturer websites but didn't see anything obvious. My Google-fu is not great, though.

    Thanks for any info.

Yeah I think you might have trouble finding that. Hanging a bike on the side of the rack or rtt is not the issue. How far is sticks out onto the fast lane is the trick. This is a dimensional issue, not a manufacture issue. I can fab it for you but you'll have to pay the truckers for new mirrors and headlights. Lol

I'm not asking how far out you think is ok to mount something, these things exist already I'm just trying to find out more about how they and other accessories attach. Why would I build a rack and then pay someone to fabricate the accessory mounts?

Hey Karen, I'm just trying to help. Considering I'm the only one that responded to your thread after 24 hours, you might try explaining it a little better. Go ahead and ask the other 49 folks that looked in here and see what they think. With that attitude, you'll probably get a phuck off, just like this one.

"Trying to help" by being a condescending ass?

Both of the questions in my reply were legit. Get some thicker skin.

    Thanks for trying to help!
