Just happened to have it handy. My "spare" case is sitting here on the kitchen counter waiting for me to clean it and put it back together again.

What'd you end up doing with your old taco case? Havent had any bites trying to sell mine here on craigslist or local tw thread.

I kinda figured. I would venture a guess that theres a super white bumper cover for a 2nd gen already trimmed for 33s in there :anonymous:

Gone are the days I could clean and rebuild a t-case in the kitchen. Marriage and a child put an immediate end to that practice...

No one seems to need a tcase for manual taco. I feel like the only value is the input shaft for a donor on a manual doing the fj swap and the actuator. Kinda feel the same on the spare FJ case. All I can ever see myself needing is the input shaft if my splines shit out.

Got a new shift knob for the TCase today. Gotta repaint the white letters better than what I have and tried to do. But it’s better than the stock fj case knob I had

Got it all finished up today. Used a 3 1/4" hole saw and FJ cruiser boots to keep things looking OEM. I have the TRD short shifter and things rub a little in 5th and 6th in 2wd but I didn't modify the stock t-case j-shifter at all and it's not enough to cause an issue for now. Need to get the 4wd lights to quit blinking now. Anyone have any tips? I am not worried about making them function if I can get them to stop blinking without needing to cut/splice anything.

Looks good! As for the blinking lights, remove the 20 amp 4wd fuse in the fuse box by the drivers side steering wheel and your lights will stop blinking

or if you do some quic research on the add delete/dash lights (which I am currently too lazy to attach) you can splice the detent switches and dashlights together by the 4wd ECU and you will have what ever lights on that the transfer case is set in. Not what that stupid 4wd ecu says

I was gonna suggest unplugging the 4wd ecu but this is much easier to make the lights stop.
Mine are pretty gnarly too after beating on the trans channel.

Of course, but he said he was not looking to make them function.

mine were going to as well until someone suggested a hole saw a few pages back lol

Thank you! i appreciate that, i am gonna go take that out now

I did research a little but I am not too handy with wiring so I don't fully understand what needs to be done. I did notice that Traction control turns off like it should when I shift to 4wd, so I think I got that part right. I really wanted to avoid cutting the harness but if it's only a couple of connections, I may reconsider to get things working fully again.

I was already planning on breaking out the death wheel, so I was happy when I saw that. Like you said, brilliant, someone was using their head there! I spent 20 bucks on the hole saw and ill probably never use it again, but it was money well spent
