Can you take 2-3 shots, two shots from the rear of the bed with the cover closed, then partially opened and a side shot showing the cover fully open?

I was looking at that. Can you still use your oem bed rail lugs with that cover? Also does it have the pull cord type latch to unlock?

Learned something the other day, was chatting with a rep for the Gator Tailback I was looking into, asked for installation instructions for a Tacoma.. a few minutes later I get pdf instructions for the Extang Solid Fold 2.0. Rep says that its the same manufacturer, looked that one over and sure enough it's the same tri-fold as the Gator Tailback :p My concerns with those is that although people that bought the Solid Fold 2.0 2016-2017 seem to have had great service, too many people of recent times have had problems with the plastic panels "sinking in"in places. Based on that I want something with aluminum panels.

Currently looking hard at right now is the Extang Xceed, it feature aluminum panels and a one piece "Endurashield" covering, and opens all the panels. The rails use the existing studs for the OEM bed rails, the mounting clamps have holes for re-installing your OEM rails lower so they can still be used, a must for me that I can still use those. What I like most is that it has a new rotary lock, prevents the "coat hanger" thief from pulling the ones that have the pull cords. Still looking around though, will be a week or two before I will be able to order anything due to work.

Here's the pics of my undercover armor flex. It has pull cords and it bolts onto the cleat rails. It's very easy to remove and place back on. Still comes down to what your needs are. There's lots of options but I would definitely go with aluminum panels.

Wanted to jump into this thread rather than start a new one.

Just acquired a 2009 Tacoma Dbl Cab short bed. Needing to get a bed cover that I can lock closed. I Had a BakFlip MX4 on my F150 and with the tailgate lock feature... it suited my needs well. Trying to accomplish the same thing.

So I wanted to ask what is my best option knowing that the 2009 tailgate has a different height than the bed rails, and also I don't have an option to lock the tailgate. I've seen the tailgate lock kits, but am concerned with the poor quality of the latch mechanism.

Any suggestions as to a solution? Need to stick with a tri-fold.

I've looked at the BakFlip for this application but it has a note that it doesn't seal on the tailgate lip. The Extang Solid Fold 2.0 looks good as does the Undercover Armor Flex (probably same as BakFlip MX4).

    Much appreciated.

The armor flex seals great on the tailgate. They call it a two way seal or something which just means no matter if you close the tailgate first, then close the last panel of the tonneau or vice versa it seals both ways. Like most of not all tonneau covers their are slight gaps at the top where tailgate meets the bed. I put a pop and lock latch on mine and am very pleased with the quality.

Thanks timred93. The latch I've looked at is the pop and lock model... just saw some reviews that the latch lever can break if you pull hard against it. Also, is your tailgate the unequal height like on the 2009? BakFlip has a cover for this, but their website says that the integrated tailgate seal is not included for that model.

Also... still looking for some feedback on the Extang Solid Fold 2.0 and how it seals.
