Lol yep. Just bought a 15cubic foot one and already had a 5 cubic foot one. Gonna be freezing a bunch of stuff out of the garden this season too. Trying to cut ties with stores as much as possible and hoping to be pretty well stocked up thanks to all the craziness going on now days

Wood doesn't do well here either. Years ago metal roofs starting taking over shingles most were green at first. Then they came out with red and a lot of the farm houses put those on. Now they have every color in the rainbow. And a lot of rural homes are being built as metal pole shed homes, with lots of insulation.

Shingles and deck both will need to be replaced soon. Been looking at IPE wood and composite decking glad I took my heart meds first. Metal roofs aren't that much more than shingles anymore. But not sure I need something that will last more than 20 years :pout:

If I do get a Lockhart pellet pooper then I will likely build a IPE wood frame and metal roofing for sheathing on 3 sides much like a vault toilet at campgrounds. The Webers are fine exposed. And if you ever have tried to take a cover off a grill or smoker at 20 below zero you likely don't want to ever do it again LOL.

Yes I agree it must be! Got a call from Home Depot today that my freezer will be delivered between 1500-1900 tomorrow. Only 16 cubic ft but should be more than enough for me and the son. I'll keep the little 5 cu ft. chest in the garage for dead birds that I use for dog training. At the Admirals house in SD where we pheasant hunt have a 30 cubic ft. freezer. It is a beast especially for an upright.

WoooHoo! The first brisket I have seen in months. The price isn't as bad as I was expecting.
It's going to be a smokin 4th of July.

Nobody had brisket here, for the 10th week in a row. I did see dino ribs yesterday, but they must have been from a fat lazy cow. They had 3” of fat, and like a 1/4” of actual meat. Thought about getting them, but rib eye was much cheaper.

We are seeing a little more briskets now. H-E-B has them for $2.05lb limit two per purchase. Wife is going to grab a bunch this week.

Its a shortage is what I was told. Sams club had the cheapest, safeway had the most expensive....walmart had just a bit higher than pre C prices

Yup, the pandemic has put a hurting on the meat supply. I saw a story a while back that was talking about how our distribution system caters more to restaurants and not grocery stores because people eat out so much.

    Update on the Pitboss Lockhart.

    First impression.
Not even going to try a second cook on it anytime soon.
    Going back to the pro1100.

Sam’s in Asheville had whole briskets for $2.48lb the other day. No way I could fit it in the little smoker I’ve got here at the cabin though so I didn’t get one.

Texas is sounding better and better. Just saying...

Costco finally released the restrictions on proteins except for poultry. Limit of 2 fresh.

?? I am not sold on pellet poopers to begin with based on my experience with them which is only Pit Boss. IF I do end up going down that road will stick with the pit boss. Big IF though...

Asheville? Not the same Asheville in NC where I did my Twilight carrier from the Navy I assume? Actually lived in Arden South of Asheville. Was in Hendersonville before they closed the stations down there. The Air Force were throwing their desks and other assets away and I told them I would take one of the desks with an extension on it. It now sits in my reloading room with a bunch of presses on it.

@Cold Iron, you know I like my Pellet pooper. It has worked great for me but I know two others that have bought the same one from my recommendation and have had nothing but problems and returned them. They both had high temp spikes that shut them down when they opened the door. I would return mine myself if it did that but luckily I have never had that happen. I don't know if it's a quality control problem or just user error. It's hard to tell.

I have tried to help them based on my experiences but both gave up pretty quickly.

We’ve seen limits put on the amount of meat you can buy but no real shortages here.

I’ve got a random disappearance that’s putting a damper on my Independence Day celebration. Every year I do a shrimp boil on the 4th for family. Last night I went to 13 different grocery stores looking for Zatarain’s Crawfish, Shrimp and Crab boil and the shelves are empty. Can’t even find the other brands. The hunt continues this morning.

Had the same deal here, unfortunately not a lot of freezer space so I only grabbed two. Which are getting smoked tonight...
