If you run your fingernail over that can you feel a ridge? Normally I’d recommend a light or medium compound on an orbital but I think I see primer in your photo.. :(

Yeah, I’ve played with touch up paint and the tiny applicator brushes you can buy but it’s mostly a waste of time. They work good for rock chips but the scratch will show even after you spend hours filling the scratch and buffing everything. If you can feel a ridge with your nail than the paint is damaged and really needs to be re-sprayed. Sorry man.

That went past the primer. If you dont want to spend a lot of money, clean it up, get touch up paint and paint it yourself. Of course you will see it. Otherwise take it to a shop, and hope they are not color blind, quicksand is pretty hard to match.

Sorry man. If you don’t plan to get it professionally fixed, I would at least put some touch up paint on it to protect the bare metal. It’ll surface rust in the scratch and look kinda gnarly. You could always do touch up paint and get a vinyl wrap over the whole truck. That will make the detailing and body shop guys cringe but it’s an option.

That's not a pleasant sight. If it was my truck and it's not, and I'm not making payments on it. I would clean it up the best I could and hope it does not rust.

If I had to actually fix it I'd go to a good body shop and take my credit card. I wouldn't expect it to look perfect either.

Welcome to TW and keep on trucking.

    Lots, straight from the factory.

atch some YouTube videos. You can do some pretty remarkable repairs with this stuff. You just have to be patient. I have fixed a few pretty bad spots over the years. You can fix a long scratch like that. You’ll need a brush, patience, and the willingness to go over it many times. Many, thin coats.
That’s the best advice for a self fix I have.

It's at about the middle of the door. Look where the orange peel is towards the bottom of his picture.

Try some scratch repair compound, otherwise I would consider it the truck’s baptism, it could have just as easily been a branch in the bush, or a scratch from loading bikes or gear. It’s a truck...
