Quickpass transponder

Here in So.Cal. are local Toll Roads authority is converting over to a decal which sticks to your windshield. It's designed to be non-removable but I stick mine to a piece of plastic which is designed to stick to glass and put it as far in one of the bottom corners of my windshield as I can. I wasn't a fan of the decals at first but now that I've made them removable I'm more of a fan. They also have a barcode decal which you can stick on a headlight instead if you'd rather. I'm running those on my two air-cooled VW's. On those two cars, which I rarely drive on the Toll Road I didn't want something stuck to my window all the time.

 

None, have had it that way for 3 years. i used flat black duck tape that i had, but dipping it would work i think, just did the cheapest thing i had, so if your buying it may not be that much different.
if you want "need" to check just use the manual lanes and check the lights on the gate how it reads.
Its also 1 less thing for the passenger side to be looking at as you drive down the road.

That's exactly what I've used.... Plasti Dip. It makes it 'blend' in better.

 

As long as you have your vehicle info and license plate info on file with the toll road... it kind of doesn’t matter if the transponder works or not. I kept a transponder for a year after the battery died, nothing ever came of it. I eventually went in to the office to swap for a new one with carpool.

 

Not in illinois, (if i remember) they give you 2 passes a month of a non working transponder. then its fine city....
