That doesn't sound too bad. Plugs and brakes are regular maintenance (little early for rears). Yes the front wheel bearings are shit. My drivers when out at 90k, passenger side at about 105k. AC sounds like bad luck. Make sure you lube the drive shaft u-joints regularly, I kinda forgot about them for a few years and needed them replaced at 100K.
Only other thing I needed was new exhaust at 115K (pin hole leak in the can made it sound crappy). Other than that, this truck is a good as the day I bought it new.

Plugs.....maybe. My brakes at 100,000 miles still had lots of life left in them, but replaced anyways with new rotors as well.
The rears got replaced around 150k due to an axle seal leaking.
Went OEM pads and Napa drums and rotors.

Just to add: other than maintenance/wear items, this truck has been amazingly reliable.
The motor popped the head gasket somewhere around 235k, months after a new frame install. Couldn't not get a motor for it.

I replace my wheel bearings @ roughly 100k
Front pads around 70k. I replaced them with Ceramic pads, still going on those now.
Still rolling on the Stock rear shoes. @128k

I bought my truck used with just under 30k on it.

Sparks plugs do not need to be done every 30k.

The v6 is spec'd out for every 30k. My understanding is with the SC, some plugs are inaccessible when installed so they put irridium plugs in.
Why they use copper plugs in the v6...:notsure:

I did my plugs at About 60 and 120k with the 4.0, only because that’s when I got around to it. I can tell you the engine was starting to ping at about 110, and the new factory plugs solved the issue

My F150 got new front pads at 83,000 miles. The Tacoma has only had rear pads replaced once in 205,000 miles, done at 170,000. I have put new pads on the front twice, so I'm averaging about 70,000 miles on front pads. The rotors and drums are factory.

I don't know of any newer vehicle where plugs don't last 100,000 miles anymore.

I pulled mine at 60k, they were so far past worn it was laughable.

Many (most?) newer vehicles have platinum/iridium plugs from the manufacturer. Toyota specd the 4.0 v6 with copper.

Did mine at 60 and looked fine. But I stand corrected the manual does say every 30k.

Just a quick reminder that the kind of parts you put in to replace the worn out OEM (I'm assuming they were OEM) parts can make a huge difference in how long something lasts. Generally speaking, OEM parts will far out last aftermarket parts.

I think the wheel bearings are very unusual for a stock truck. Might are still tight and quiet at 158k miles

I just rolled over 97,000 and am still on original brakes. A couple of months ago, I pulled the rear drums, cleaned and re-lubed everything, sanded the ridge out of the inside of the drums, painted and re-installed them. The still looked good and I use my parking brake religiously. My front pads are getting thin but my rotors are still smooth and no vibration. I have a new set of Power Stops, rotors and pads in the garage, but have been busy with home improvements so will get to those in the next couple of months. I'm still on original wheel bearings too, but think I'm starting to hear the slightest bit of noise on sweeping left hand turns.
It really does depend a lot on how the previous owner drove it. The A/C compressor thing sucks but that varies from one to the other.
Don't get discouraged, overall these are good trucks.

My 06 has been great, very reliable, just take care of your taco and it will take care of you. My a/c was blowing hotter than the ambient temp, brought it in to a local guy, he oiled the compressor, and charged it, it's now blowing colder than when I first bought it. My rear shoes are original, they did have to be cleaned and lubed, have 120k on the odo still riding on original wheel bearings, just need to do the needle bearing soon but not expensive if you do it yourself.

Buying a 10 year old vehicle is always a crap shoot. You know nothing about how it was driven, where it was driven and maintenance. You have zero, nada, zilch to complain about other than maybe the wheel bearings. Yeh there will be other things going wrong or breaking too but that’s kind of what one expects when you buy a 10 year old vehicle and have little or no knowledge about its history.

Believe it or not I just went past 130,000 km on my original brake pads. I think there is approx. 2 to 3 mm left on them. Yes it is reckless, but it's also a lot of highway driving VS city.

It’s a 9 yr old truck with 80k miles. Did you expect to never have to replace parts? Maybe you should’ve bought a brand new one...

I didn’t change my pads until 105k miles. Tacomas are hearty vehicles so no you don’t expect to go through wear items often.
