    Good Morning TW!

After long hours of research, using the search engine on here and narrowing down my choices, I have decided on these two options for my 16’ Tacoma. I originally had plans to purchase a hidden winch bumper due to weight / costs / modifications or should I say - little modifications to the truck, but changed my direction.

I know at the end of the day, it’s my decision, but in the past, TW members have been very helpful/respectful/knowledgeable, so I would like your feedback.

    Please vote.

Also, would you recommend Aluminum or Steel.....

I’m not a rock crawler or deal with trees.

Added protection for Overland and Deer.

Please leave personal feedback in the comments.

Thank You for Your Time !

I wish the cbi t3 full hoop didn’t have the headlight guards.

Tbh I like both and like that they both offer aluminum.

for me personally I’d get aluminum. But I don’t want to add a ton of weight to my truck and have to buy new springs or have it be sluggish.

I think if you’re not rock crawling and want the ability to mount a winch/use for recovery aluminum would be worthwhile

To get away with deer stakes at speed, you'll need something big and robust.....
This manufacturer claims a 70 mph hit with minimal damage.IMG_0233.jpg

Unsure in your case, but a steel number is way better than aluminum in the strength area, weighs more, bends less for the same amount of material.

I would go with cbi if your planning on a winch . There is no access plate on the victory for putting new line on . You might be able to by pulling the grille . If going full hoop on the victory it would appear as if you would need to remove the bumper to change line . Looks good but it also has a weird angle at the fairlead . But if a winch isn’t a factor then I say go with the cheapest.

Thank you for your feedback. No winch for now. Just something for both protection and best looking.

Why is that ? Just curious.
People and research say it can’t handle a deer hit / or will dent easily.

it has to be stronger than our stock plastic bumpers from Toyota lol.

I would say cbi and go with the aluminum option. Even if you were to hit a deer I think the aluminum would hold up well. You would benefit from the lighter weight and never having to worry about it rusting. There are plenty of photos online of aluminum bumpers post accidents and it displays only scratches while the other vehicle is mangled. If you aren't going to be rock crawling or using it for extreme purposes I think it's worth spending the extra money to get the lighter option.

Also my top advice is to not hit a deer with your truck.

Based on the frequency of negative feedback that CBI receives on here for their long lead times and poor customer service I voted for Victory. But I’d suggest Demello Off Road and contacting Erick at @state48overland to discuss it. I run the low profile Baja & it’s a great bumper.

Edit. He has an aluminum option as well.
