Upper shock mount needs to be parallel to the lower.

The shock is straight and the uniballs on both ends have plenty of room to move. What would the ends being slightly off do?

It can cause binding. Also under movement can cause the shock to twist up.

Will is correct. The bolts need to be parallel with each other in order for the shock eyes to have full ROM.

Ok that shouldn't be too bad to change out the top shock mount. I'm actually really stuck on my upper control arm right now.

There’s a ton of math and science behind suspension setups. Look up Ultra 4 builds. There’s good videos about geometry and angles for movement etc.

Luckily I made a jig off a pre-existing arm so the geometry is good I just need to get the arms right so the inside has the right clearance for the shock

Yea but your modified from stock.
Best bet would be to remove the spring. So you can cycle the suspense with mock ups to verify.
This is just from my experience of setting up suspension on Camaros and Mustangs doing SCCA and autocross racing. After learning things the hard way. Breaking panhard rods and having bouncing rears.

Makes me miss my old 92 Camaro.

The jig was made off a mid travel arm and I'm basically just copying that. Yeah I plan to cycle the shit out of it before the final burn. This all a big trial and error learning experience. At least whenever I get to the other side it should alot quicker lol

I’d make sure those welds are solid and have good penetration.

I've added some extra gussets and when I'm done with everything I'm going to do a crossbar between the hoops.

For the application you are trying to do I think you need to run some shock hoops that are more trapezoidal shape rather than the standard U-shape so that they mount to the sides of the frame rails beyond the upper a-arm tabs and run your braces from the tube to the top of the frame rail. The braces you added arent going to do much in the way of distributing forces and brace the hoop on how the forces would be acting on it. There may be other options out there but a hoop similar to this style would be better for your application.

The more I've been looking into it I think I may cut out the hoops and go to a tower instead. I need to check a few more measurements but It looks like the ruff stuff 9.25 tower would fit.

Well, I "read some things online" and it seemed like my lift would cover some 285/70/17s - noooope. Getting some pretty serious rubbing on any sort of turn that doesn't involve 3+ points haha.

Anyone know of a solid chop shop in the Orlando area they've used & like? I found a guy on IG who said he could do it in a month or so maybe, he's working on his rig so is a bit backed up. I've used Relentless Fabrication stuff before so I was thinking about getting their plates, just need to find somewhere to do it and thought I'd check here before The Google.

Love the new rubbers though :D
