T9 android head unit

Plug the single yellow rca into the yellow rca Labeled cam on main harness of t9(paired with bigger plug)

 

Yeah no dice. I spoke with https://cartrimhome.com/ and they are sending me a new harness. Hopefully this will fix the issue. Any other recommendations before the harness gets here?

 

If you get the greenscreen its just a setting to change. Make sure the single rca plugged in good, and make sure its the right one on the main harness....there are two of them

 

How did y'all get your radio to actually mount appropriately? I can't get it to Bolt in properly so I can get the bezel and surround back on

 

Use your original bracket. Fits perfectly

 

I did. Just watched a video, didn't realize I had to drill it.

None of the units holes line up with the OEM brackets

 

The head unit is pretty thin and has 4 equal spaced holes on either side.. none of which line up.

 

Its possible you got the wrong bracket. Mine lined up perfectly. The headunit had a bracket built into it that lined up. Where did u get it from??

 

Cartrimhome, yea those brackets didn't line up at all. I took them off, and drilled my factory brackets. It was so close to being perfect alignment. With some tweaking it'll be perfect.

As for apps, depends what you like. The most common like netflix or youtube. Got vlc for music and movies. Google photos to access all your pics on your devices. Check out agama car loader, its a very customizable and convenient user interface

 

That is the cleanest agama screenshot I have seen. I like it. I will install it soon.

I have the 4Runner version of the T9. So far it is great. It cost a little more because it has the full bezel to replace the stock one. Other than that they should be the same.

I added a 2TB portable USB hard drive in the glove box with my 1000+ MP3 audio 128 bit - 50 DVD rips - 20 BR rips. It works great so far. There is enough music I won't miss XM at all.



I just installed it and I connected my phone on Bluetooth for calls and am temporarily using Wifi to connect it to cellular data. I plan on getting a SIM chip and let it be on it's own. I use my home Wifi when in the driveway to install apps and stuff. I installed Android Auto on it directly so I am not getting why you would need it on your phone as well. Google Maps these days is as good as a Garmin so that is my navigation app. I should get a USB powered splitter in a few days to test the included USB Android auto to see if I am missing something since I am using the powered USB for the HD now.

Web browsing is much better on this than my phone while my wife shops at a store I don't need to follow her around in.



I used duplicolor Toyota black pearl and two coats of clear to match the plastic of my off road premium color. It matches well.



I did get a short and blew the 20A radio fuse when hitting a bump in the road. I pulled it back out and wrapped any unused wires with electric tape. I test drove it this evening and so far so good.

 

Looking good y'all. I downloaded the agama, very customizable,. I am working through some bugs, I use Spotify as my primary player, it's a little buggy, and I'm trying to figure out how to better connect the phone, I see no difference currently if I plug it in usb or just leave it wireless even with Android auto.

I have unlimited hot spot so I've been using that on my phone to run the unit, and my home WiFi when in the garage. Install was easy once I figured out where to drill the holes in the OEM brackets, still slightly off, I had to really cram the bezel back over it, but it's on and holding! Sound quality is much better.

 

Now the damn thing is stuck in the Google maps screen. Frozen. Won't let me hit anything, won't update. Won't play music.

Even if I turn the truck off and turn it back on, nothing.


Losing faith.

 

There is a little hole in the left top, that should be a reset button. Use a pin. If its a problem with the app, delete and try another apk

 

It started working today... Hopefully it's worked it's kinks out. Lol.

 

I made my phone a hotspot and am posting from the T9 while my wife is grocery shopping. Pretty cool.

 

I got my AGAMA on and liking it.


I need reading glasses but don't wear them when driving so the google maps is hard to read. I installed Sygic maps this morning and so far it's much better.

When driving it's like a garmin GPS


When still it switches to a normal map view.


I paid $7 for the navigation add-on. I believe the full blown version is $26


I also installed Firefox with Ghosterly and Adaware add-ins. I'm not a fan of Chrome.

 

Not a chrome user either, but thats how i get download independant apks and youtube vids
