Same here on all counts. I don't really see the need for 285s and don't want to have to spend $$$ to regear so I'm aiming for a 1" lift and keeping 265s. I have other long term plans that may require new leaf springs anyway though....

This. Though I think a small lift like 2" or lower you are ok if done right. My Jeep TJ is lifted 2.5" suspension and it has been fine with over 200,000 miles on it. I did the lift at about 30,000. The only issue I had so far from it is U joints going early from the heavy MT tires...

The only big issue with the stock Tacoma suspension is that the rear is only designed for about 300 lbs consistent max load. So I may upgrade the suspension because of that. But I dont want to be over 2". I just want to be able to fit 265/75/16 tires.

You got anymore pics of your setup? I have the same truck and am thinking about the 265/75r16 duratracs but I am super indecisive. Suspension completely stock?

Yes, the suspension is completely stock, I have had it off road a number of times and no rubbing, even when articulated to the point of wheels almost off the ground. I have cranked the wheels lock to lock without any rubbing either. I do believe that the OR has an inch higher lift stock, bit with all the space, I don't believe it would make a difference on the SR5 model, but would do a search to see if there are others with the SR5 to confirm.

Honestly by far the best tire I've ever used. I bought the truck in Jan 2017. Put 100k miles on them and still have great tread left. I think I have a ply used for towing that's the reason why they have lasted long cuz I hardly ever tow. They do great in the mud and sand. I got them at discount tire, I think I paid $1200 for 5 tires with road hazard warranty. Mount and balanced. Best decision ever made!

265/75r16 General grabber atx tires, 2 inch leveling kit from rough country in the front with nothing lifting the rear. I plan on a 1in block for the rear soon but also added the trd pro grill and ditch lights

Sometimes I'd like to try a 285, but I'm 99% sure for these specific wheels I'd need to look at a CMC / pinch weld work and that's not something I want to go near. These fit with zero issue, and zero issue is good.

I'm upping to a 265/70-17 snow tire this year on FJC steel wheels painted silver. I would love to do the 275/70-17 size I've seen people do, or even a 255 and whatever equivalent aspect ratio to get a 33" tire, but the same thing, I don't want to risk having something rub.

Goodyear Duratracs..... thanks to this thread. It helped me pick this tire and I’m totally happy with them. C-load.
