It's fairly straight forward. Unbolt shackle from hanger. Remove stock hanger/rivets. Drill holes out to 1/2". Install HH. Bolt everything up and torque shackle bolts to 89 ft lbs. Hanger bolts at 85 (I just do them to 89 so I don't need to adjust my torque wrench).

As far as removing the rivets, there's a few methods. I go over my preferred method here.

Hey guys, sorry if I missed it there are a lot of pages here but what can be said about upgrading to hammer hangers with stock suspension?
Well kind of lol, I have a 2nd gen taco running 3rd gen trd sport front and rear suspension (new low km shocks and leaves) with a spacer in the front that puts me at ~3” lift and Firestone ride rites u bolt flip w/ daystar cradles in the rear to level me out and take the weight of future mods (canopy/rtt etc) currently I run the bed empty at low psi just enough so I’m level and don’t bottom out over bumps. I don’t plan on changing anything else suspension wise for a couple years at least so if these will noticeably improve ride quality it may be my final addition until I get a real aftermarket suspension in the years to come.
    All takes are appreciated!

Hh are a great combo with stock springs for ride quality and handling benefits.
Yes you get the same improvement with stock springs and shocks.

I see now thanks! So would you confirm HH’s wouldn’t interfere with anything in the back like the airbag suspension? I don’t think I’d get the crossbar because I plan on leaving my spare underneath. But if I pull the trigger on these bad boys all I need to order are the hammer hangers themselves? Stock shackle is fine?

Hh will not interfere with anything, its just installing beast mode in place of limp wristed. Stock shackles are fine.

Here are quotes from @Nitori who installed with stock springs and shocks, without cross tube. This is also the exact experience I had on my own truck with stock springs (This was quoted from a different thread):

Installed my HH last week...install was surely a PITA but easily doable with patience. I found it easy to just cut the stock hanger parallel with the frame about 1/4” under the frame to get to the bottom rivets easier. Excellent quality, construction, powder coating, and packaging.

Ride quality improvement is immediately noticable. Can’t wait for my Deavers and Fox DSC through accutune to get here.

Im currently on factory leafs with an icon AAL with overload left in and they feel so much better for those wondering.

(pic was just mocked up to make sure all holes aligned.)

Nice little Flex Friday showing @whatstcp setup with Hh, Archive shock relocation and Dakars. Notice the Dakars are not all fanned out like happens with stock location shackle pivot point.
And with the Archive relocation, he actually has full bump travel, not just droop, plus 2.5" shocks for the plush ride and cooling. Win. Win.

I need springs too, but tough pill to swallow spending $1100 on deavers, especially since I don’t start working again until late July.

Bruh, if you want to see a really clean 3rd gen build going down, some great fender trimming/wheel well prep/CMC action to imitate, and the full suite of Archive bits installed, then check out Matt @Mkime 's thread here:
    Matt's Hi-Dezert Taco

    Finer points:
    • Peep that bump travel thanks to Archive Towers and lopro U-bolt flip
    • How I recommend the reservoir inlet elbow be above the res on the frame (for comp adjustable)
    • Deaver U402 stage 1 + Archive Hh w/ 3.6" SOA shackle working in sync

    Not much stock left.
    Made this happen today.

It went relatively smooth. Took about four hours to complete. The plasma cutter comes in handy, and the fact that I had knowledgeable people at the shop to guide me.

We ran into two snags. First, had most everything put back together, then noticed the U402R III was on the left and the U402L III was on the right. Not sure why it matters, but swapped them anyway.

Once again got everything 100% put back together, when a co-worker noticed the bolt on the upper shackle was facing the wrong direction. That sucked! A 5’ pry bar and some cuss words got it swapped around.

These hangers are amazing. I freaking Love them. Smoothes the ride out while cutting down on the ass end chatter.
